Alongside many new Pals, Palworld also lets you craft a host of new and exciting weapons. Most of them are tied to the later stages of the game, but you can look forward to unlocking and using them. From new plasma weapons and a new bow to some practical early-game melee options, there’s something for every player. Together with your Pals, you can really turn up the heat in battle! Depending on your playstyle, Palworld offers various weapons to fight with. And with the new additional holsters, you can ultimately carry up to six weapons at once and swap between them in combat.
Palworld 1.0 new firearms: list, crafting, and damage

Mechanized Bow: damage, durability, and crafting in Palworld
- Tech level: 67 (4 points)
- Damage: 20,000
- Durability: 2,000
- Crafting: 40x Soralite Ingots + 20x Carbon Fiber + 200x Paldium Fragments + 3x AI Cores
The Mechanized Bow is absolutely worth unlocking. It has the highest base attack of any weapon in the game, though you do need to aim precisely. You obtain it fairly late, but you might find its schematics earlier. The additional arrow types also unlock at level 67 and can be crafted from Soralite Ingots.
Bows aren’t for everyone, but on a server you can trade weapons with each other. Rent a Palworld server and test the new weapons together. The accurate, precision-focused bow may not suit every taste, but it would be a shame not to use it.
Combat SMG: stats and crafting
- Tech level: 68 (4 points)
- Damage: 907
- Durability: 8,000
- Crafting: 50x Soralite Ingots + 30x Carbon Fiber + 20x Cryofluid + 4x AI Cores
Also a strong late-game option, the Combat SMG offers a high magazine capacity of 42 rounds and fires very quickly. It delivers solid damage output, but you do need to keep an eye on your ammo.
Experimental Shotgun: close-range damage and crafting
- Tech level: 69 (4 points)
- Damage: 1,167
- Durability: 6,000
- Crafting: 60x Soralite Ingots + 40x Carbon Fiber + 5x Thermal Cores + 5x AI Cores
Shotguns are great when you fight relatively close to your target and aim with care. They fire fewer shots per second, but those shots hit much harder. Their magazine is smaller to balance that power. The Experimental Shotgun is definitely good, but not necessarily the best choice at this point.
Heavy Assault Rifle: damage, range, and materials
- Tech level: 70 (5 points)
- Damage: 1,615
- Durability: 5,500
- Crafting: 100x Soralite Ingots + 50x Carbon Fiber + 30x Bio Battery + 5x AI Cores
With a steady rate of fire, high damage, and mid-range reach, the Heavy Assault Rifle is a versatile late-game weapon. The magazine holds 30 rounds, or 46 on the legendary version. You can hardly go wrong with it. We recommend it for almost any situation.
Tactical Grenade Launcher: area damage and ammo
- Tech level: 73 (5 points)
- Damage: 6,722
- Durability: 800
- Crafting: 80x Soralite Ingots + 15x Corrosive Solvent + 5x Thermal Cores + 5x AI Cores
The Tactical Grenade Launcher lets you fire high-damage projectiles, especially useful against large groups of enemies. The fire rate is slow, but every hit is devastating. And with 8 to a maximum of 12 shots before reloading, you can get a lot done.

Photon Shotgun: automatic shotgun with a high fire rate
- Tech level: 75 (5 points)
- Damage: 508
- Durability: 950
- Crafting: 50x Paxolite Ingots + 50x Soralite Ingots + 5x AI Cores + 5x Ancient Civilization Cores
Even though its magazine capacity of 30 might not scream “shotgun”, it is one. Thanks to its high rate of fire and large magazine, the Photon Shotgun is even better than the Experimental Shotgun. It’s also the only automatic shotgun in the game.
Drone Launcher: summon drones and support damage
- Tech level: 77 (4 points)
- Damage: 200
- Durability: 6,500
- Crafting: 70x Paxolite Ingots + 40x Soralite Ingots + 5x AI Cores + 5x Ancient Civilization Cores
A very unusual weapon: it doesn’t attack directly but can deploy up to nine drones that orbit the player and automatically engage targets. You should always keep the Drone Launcher in your arsenal to summon drones and use them as support in battle.
Plasma Rifle: endgame damage and chain hits
- Tech level: 78 (5 points)
- Damage: 1,860
- Durability: 25,000
- Crafting: 80x Paxolite Ingots + 50x Bio Battery + 8x AI Cores + 7x Ancient Civilization Cores
Arguably the best endgame weapon in the game, with high damage and a strong fire rate. Its beam can chain to up to three additional nearby enemies, which is fantastic against groups. Once you reach the end of Palworld, it’s hard to pass this weapon up.
Photon Projector: high damage, overheating, and best uses
- Tech level: 80 (5 points)
- Damage: 14,000
- Durability: 3,500
- Crafting: 100x Paxolite Ingots + 50x Bio Battery + 10x AI Cores + 10x Ancient Civilization Cores
As the final weapon you can unlock, the Photon Projector isn’t quite as dominant as you might expect. It deals huge damage per shot but overheats quickly, so it really shines only in specific, well-aimed scenarios. It can be great, but it’s too situational to use all the time.
Palworld 1.0 new melee weapons: list, crafting, and damage

Battered Sword: early game and materials
- Tech level: 17 (2 points)
- Damage: 180
- Durability: 500
- Crafting: 2x Wood Planks + 15x Stone + 15x Ingots
The Battered Sword is a good weapon for your first few hours and offers reliable melee support. It doesn’t deal massive damage, but it’s one of the few melee weapons you can use at that stage. Until you find any weapons from Tides of Terraria, the sword is a solid choice.
Metal Bat: mid-game melee and crafting
- Tech level: 40 (3 points)
- Damage: 500
- Durability: 500
- Crafting: 30x Hardwood + 20x Refined Ingots
The metal baseball bat is a solid mid-game choice if you want a dependable melee option. It can’t quite compete with the Katana at level 44, but it’s a better pick than the level 29 sword. Once again, the Terraria collaboration weapons stand out here.
Lily’s Improved Spear: reach, damage, and schematics
- Tech level: 68 (4 points)
- Damage: 1,200
- Durability: 600
- Crafting: 20x Paldium Fragments + 30x Soralite Ingots + 20x High-Quality Cloth + 20x High-Quality Wood Planks
If you enjoy spears and their reach, Lily’s Improved Spear is essential. It’s not as strong as the next weapon, but it can still deal a lot of damage. There’s also a legendary schematic with 1,500 damage and 2,400 durability—an absolute must-have.
Energy Sword: best melee weapon and legendary schematics
- Tech level: 73 (5 points)
- Damage: 2,000
- Durability: 1,200
- Crafting: 50x Soralite Ingots + 250x Paldium Fragments + 30x Bio Battery + 3x AI Cores
This extremely cool sword doesn’t just look stylish—it’s also the best melee weapon you can unlock. It handles like any other sword but hits incredibly hard. We recommend tracking down the legendary schematics to reach up to 2,400 damage. The 4,800 durability in particular makes the upgrade worthwhile.
Conclusion on Palworld weapons: new builds and tips
New weapons are always a reason to celebrate, helping you diversify your playstyle and try different combat options. While most schematics and upgrades are tied to Sunreach and the World Tree, there are also a few options for the early game. Also craft the holsters at levels 27 and 54 to carry two more weapons. And remember, you can find a legendary schematic for every weapon to push it even further. Most of them are found randomly in chests or other locations.
