New Pals naturally mean new ways to get around. Among the 70+ new Pals in version 1.0, a considerable number are also mounts that let you travel across land, the sea, and the skies. Several of the old Pals were adjusted as well, with much sleeker animations. In this article, we focus on the new rides, how fast they are, and when you can use their saddle. We sort the list by the required levels and look at which of the new creatures are truly worth it.
Palworld land mounts: fastest rides and saddle levels

As before the update, Pals that make you run faster on land are in the majority. Palworld 1.0 adds 11 new Pals here, even if some are elemental variants of older Pals. It’s still worth a look, as many saddles were moved and some values tweaked. Rent a Palworld server at a great price with friends and test which Pals are truly fast. When everyone rides something different, the game becomes a lot more fun.
Rayhound Cryst mount: fast Ice mount with team bonus
- Saddle level: 32
- Speed: 750 to 1150 (4-star 840 to 1380)
- Location: Geisterzinne
Rayhound Cryst is absolutely worth it, much like its Electric variant. It runs faster the more Ice Pals you have in your team, which becomes even more effective through Condensing. It’s very nimble, and you unlock its saddle relatively early.
Moldron and Moldron Cryst as mounts
- Saddle level: 36 (Cryst 70)
- Speed: 650 to 850
- Location: Obsidianinsel (Cryst Weltenbaum as an alpha boss)
Moldron is built more for combat than for riding. It’s slow, and you unlock Moldron Cryst very late—by then you already have much faster options.
Dualith and Dualith Noct as land mounts
- Saddle level: 48 (Noct 69)
- Speed: 600 to 800
- Location: Fuß der Geisterzinnen, Weltenbaum
Similar to Moldron, this Pal is not really suited as a mount. Use it in your base or in combat instead. In those roles it is strong, with high defense and many work skills.
Tetroise and Tetroise Primo for mining rather than as a mount
- Saddle level: 48 (Primo 75)
- Speed: 360 to 540
- Location: Durstdünen, Primo Weltenbaum
Tetroise joins Moldron and Dualith among the weaker mounts. It’s extremely slow, and you should use it for mining instead. Tetroise Primo also makes your weapons and armor degrade more slowly.
Bulldosu mount: Ground Pal with electric protection
- Saddle level: 53
- Speed: 600 to 810
- Location: Kirschblütenschrein
Bulldosu is another slower pick and not a good mount at this stage. It can help against Electric Pals in combat, though, as it reduces damage and makes you and your Pals immune to Electrify.

Polapup Terra mount: faster on ice and slopes
- Saddle level: 55
- Speed: 250 to 375 (on ice 650 to 975)
- Location: Sonnenwappeninsel
The Terra variant of Polapup is only situationally useful and has the same effect as the regular Polapup, which you can ride at level 24. It gets faster on snow or when moving down slopes. Its use case is therefore quite specific.
Starryon and Starryon Primo: fastest land mounts in the late game
- Saddle level: 77
- Speed: 900 to 1250 (4-star 1800 to 2500)
- Location: Feybreak Loess Plains, Cryst Weltenbaum
Starryon is an absolute beast and one of the fastest Pals in the game. The regular Starryon is faster at night and can jump higher. Starryon Primo benefits from each Normal Pal in your team and runs even faster. You should definitely catch and use both.
Univolt Cryst mount: is it worth it over Univolt?
- Saddle level: 64
- Speed: 720 to 1100
- Location: Weltenbaum in the ice region
Univolt Cryst is the Ice version of the familiar Univolt and is hardly worth it. You’ll find it much later in the game, and the base Univolt has the same stats but a saddle at Technology level 14.
Ophydia mount: very fast in the endgame
- Saddle level: 72
- Speed: 700 to 1500
- Location: Boss on Sky Islands, Weltenbaum
One of the last rides you unlock, but also one of the fastest Pals in the game. As a mount it’s a very strong late-game choice, even if it can’t quite match the legendaries.
Celesdir Noct vs. Celesdir: which mount is better
- Saddle level: 78
- Speed: 800 to 1200
- Location: Weltenbaum
You’re likely better off with the regular Celesdir, since you can find it all over Feybreak and ride it from level 54. The new Celesdir Noct is just as fast but only found in the Weltenbaum. In addition, the regular Celesdir gains a bonus for each Normal Pal in your team, while Noct has no such perk.
Aegidron mount: unlocked late and fairly slow
- Saddle level: 79
- Speed: 850 to 1100
- Location: Weltenbaum, breeding
Alongside Jetragon, this is the last saddle you can unlock. It’s relatively slow and not really worth it at that point. Even Pals like Rayhound are faster and available much earlier.
Palworld swim mounts in the ocean: new water rides

There are only two new swim mounts, and they are variants of the same Pal. Most older Pals like Jormuntide, Neptilius, or Ghangler are still the better options.
Solmora and Solmora Lux: fast swim mounts and anglers
- Saddle level: 65 and 66
- Speed: 1300 (4-star 1625)
- Location: Sunreach, Weltenbaum
That doesn’t mean Solmora and Solmora Lux are slow. Especially with 25 percent more speed at four stars, these Pals can keep up just fine. They are also excellent anglers.
Palworld flying mounts: fastest rides in the air

Lastly, let’s look at the new flying mounts—there are six of them. They let you admire Palpagos Island from above and traverse the archipelago quickly without teleporting. However, most are only found in the Weltenbaum, so very late game.
Dynamoff mount: can fly but better as a hatching helper
- Saddle level: 66
- Speed: 700 to 1000
- Location: Sunreach
Dynamoff is not very worthwhile as a flying mount. You should use it as support for hatching in your base instead—much better suited there.
Eidrolon and Eidrolon Ignis: fastest flying mounts with type bonus
- Saddle level: 68 (Ignis 76)
- Speed: 1400 to 2750 (4-star 1736 to 3410)
- Location: Weltenbaum
Eidrolon and Eidrolon Ignis are true late-game Pals you should absolutely catch in the Weltenbaum. Their base speed is already high. Both benefit from Pals of the same type in your team, making them even faster. In the end, they rank among the fastest Pals in the game.
Beakon Cryst: not an upgrade over early Beakon
- Saddle level: 71
- Speed: 750 to 1200 (4-star 1500 to 2400)
- Location: Weltenbaum
With Beakon, you’re better off using the regular Beakon from level 29. Both are equally fast and gain speed per Pal of the same type in the team. Beakon Cryst is therefore not a notable upgrade.
Roujay mount: solid speed in the Weltenbaum
- Saddle level: 72
- Speed: 950 to 1350
- Location: Weltenbaum
Roujay isn’t the slowest Pal, but also not the fastest in the air. You can use it, but by this point there are clearly better mounts.
Shaolong mount: top flying Pal with dragon bonus
- Saddle level: 77
- Speed: 1400 to 2800
- Location: Weltenbaum
Late in the game, Shaolong is one of the best flying Pals, and we recommend using it. In joint combat, it can also become very strong the more Dragon Pals you have in your team. Jetragon, just two levels later, is often the better solution, though.
Panthalus: story mount with constant flight speed
- Saddle level: not required
- Speed: 3000
- Location: available only as a story Pal
Panthalus is a special Pal you can summon only under certain conditions. It grants access to the Weltenbaum, a prerequisite for many Pals listed here. As a mount it’s quite useful, flying quickly and consistently and needing no additional saddle.
Conclusion on Palworld 1.0 mounts: travel fast across land, water, and air
New mounts in Palworld are always a reason to celebrate—they give you more choice and faster traversal. Version 1.0 adds several strong options. On land, we recommend catching Rayhound Cryst, Starryon Primo, and Ophydia, then making them even faster with Condensing. Over water there’s only Solmora as a new Pal, a solid pick. In the air, Eidrolon and Shaolong shine and dominate the late game.
