The full release of Palworld not only adds a new region to the main islands, but also introduces a completely separate map you can visit at the end of your journey. The World Tree has always been a striking landmark, and now you can actually explore it. You won’t just find heaps of new Pals there, but also the biggest challenges the game has to offer. Come prepared, and craft new gear from local resources to push through. The World Tree is its own ecosystem, packed with new items, Pals, and exciting places to discover.
Unlocking the Palworld World Tree: Access, structure, and level requirements

You can’t simply walk into the World Tree area. Yes, in the far northwest of the map you’ll now find the accessible fringes of the new map, but you can only enter after progressing very far in the game. We strongly recommend training to at least level 70 and exploring Sunreach. Defeat the tower boss there, and you’ll be ready to move on.
Even a high level won’t get you through at first, as the terminal still blocks your way. You need a specific Pal to take you to the tree. The questline you start will lead you to an abandoned island roughly in the middle of the map. Speak with the NPC there to begin the quest. You’ll search the map for several large skeletons, collect bone fragments, and craft a flute. Use it to summon Panthalus, a blue, flying spirit-whale. Fight Panthalus, capture it at the end of the battle, and return to the terminal in front of the World Tree. The path will now open.

The World Tree is a major challenge you don’t have to face alone. Play together with friends. With us, you can rent an affordable Palworld server that’s perfect for co-op. Team up, brave the World Tree, and explore a completely new map.
This new map effectively condenses all previous biomes into a compact format. You’ll travel in no time from frigid ice fields to fiery plains or toxic hills, where you’ll need a new gas mask. The Pals you encounter are just as diverse. Your gear is crucial so you don’t succumb to the environment.

Tower boss in the World Tree: Fighting Zenala and Astralym

Another major challenge in the World Tree is concluding the questline and finishing Palworld. As with every other new region, there’s a tower boss here too—but you must unlock it first. Before that, you’ll need to complete three shorter boss fights. They’re all level 78, so we recommend training a bit beforehand.
Face these three boss fights:
- Mist Spirit in the Tree’s Shade Dandilord: Enter the reddish area at the north end of the map to fight the new Pal Dandilord. This Pal is Grass and Dark type. Use your own Fire or Dragon types to defeat it.
- Eternal Purple Shadow Silvance: The second boss, Silvance, is also Grass type and can be found in the south of the map. The fight isn’t too hard if you dodge well and attack tactically.
- Boss rush in the forbidden laboratory: Lastly, venture into the forbidden laboratory to defeat the third boss—or rather, to face all previous tower bosses again. They have significantly less HP, but they hit harder than before. A varied team is key here.
After defeating all these bosses, you can tackle Palworld’s final grand quest: the battle against Zenala and Astralym. This last tower boss is level 80, the maximum level in Palworld. You’ll need to muster all your strength to face this fight. There is no type weakness and no other specific weak points.
Only your damage matters. You should also be level 80 and make use of all available technologies. A flying mount is essential to stay mobile and dodge consistently. Whenever it charges a big attack, interrupt it—or you’ll likely go down.
Resources in the World Tree: Paxolit, skill fruits, and Lifespring Water

Finally, let’s look at some of the most important materials and items you can only find in the World Tree. Many of them are needed to craft new technologies from level 70 onward, powerful weapons and armor, or new saddles and mounts (Palworld 1.0: Fastest Mounts for Land, Water, and Air) .
- Lifespring Water: The most important resource—without it, you can’t harvest other materials. Dropped by every Pal and can be drunk.
- Paxolit: The best metal you can find. Required for nearly all late-game recipes.
- Bezoars: Rare stones. You need 50 of each to awaken Pals.
- Ancient Relics: Can be collected and processed into other rare items in a special machine.
- World Tree Eggs: Eggs found in the World Tree often contain rare and powerful Pals. Gather and hatch them.
- Skill fruits: You’ll find several Skill Fruit trees with rare attacks.
- Effigies: As across Palpagos, you can find several effigies for the Statue of Power in the World Tree. You’ll find Cattiva, Lifmunk, and Yakumo.
Conclusion: Face Palworld’s final challenge
Palworld’s World Tree holds the game’s ultimate challenge. You’ll encounter many new and powerful Pals, and gather rare resources and items. All of this is crucial for tackling the final questlines and defeating the end boss. You can, of course, keep playing afterward—but it’s worth seeing Palworld through to the end. We recommend preparing thoroughly and using every possible upgrade to take on the endgame.
