Palworld offers a wide range of thrilling challenges to put your strongest Pals to the test. That includes the Towers and the Arena, which we’ve already covered—both can be a lot of fun later in the game. Raid bosses are also an essential part of the endgame. Here, you face an immensely powerful Pal and try to defeat it together with your own Pals. Afterwards, great rewards await, including a Pal egg and lots of items to power up your team! Today, we’ll show you how to master these encounters.

Summoning Palworld raid bosses: Summoning Altar and Slabs explained

Summoning Altar in Palworld and how to summon raid bosses

You unlock raid bosses later in Palworld. The centerpiece of this feature is the Summoning Altar, which you can unlock in the Technology tab at level 33 for three Ancient Technology Points. Build the altar using 100 Stone and 20 Paldium Fragments. You should keep these materials stocked, as the altar can be used only once. You can place the altar in your base, but we recommend setting up a separate base just for raiding.

The second requirement is the set of Slabs used to summon specific Pals. You can craft these yourself or have your Pals produce them, but first you must collect four Slab Fragments for each slab. Each set of fragments only works for its matching slab, and you’ll primarily find them in dungeons or while exploring. You can also obtain an Ultra Slab from standard boss fights, enabling a harder version of the raid.

To start a raid against a specific boss, craft the corresponding slab and place it on the altar. You’ll then be asked where to hold the fight:

  • In your base: Can destroy structures, but you’re ready to go immediately. You can gear your base specifically for the fight.
  • In a separate arena: An arena in another dimension, giving you time to prepare. The arena disappears after the fight, so make sure to loot everything in time.

These raid versions of Pals are extremely strong and highly destructive. They have a ton of HP and hit harder, while your damage is reduced. Each fight lasts ten minutes. If the timer runs out, the fight ends in a loss. Keep an eye on the clock and push your damage.

You can earn the following rewards after raids:

  • Egg for the respective Pal
  • Ultra Slabs (for the hard version)
  • Accessories (rings and necklaces)
  • Lotus Blossoms
  • Ancient Civilization Parts of various types
  • Rubies and diamonds
  • Training Crystals
  • Fruits (Attack, Defense, HP)

All Palworld raid bosses: Strategies, phases, and rewards

Overview of Palworld raid bosses with strategies and rewards

Bellanoir boss guide: Weaknesses, counters, and tips

  • Level: 30
  • HP: 294,000

Your first raid fight is against Bellanoir. Even though it’s only level 30 (and you can’t technically start raids until level 33), do not underestimate this boss. We suggest waiting until at least level 40, if not higher. You can try earlier, but be cautious. Bellanoir has no Ultra variant, making it a solid first step into raid bosses.

Bellanoir is a Dark type, so your best counters are Pals with Dragon-type attacks. Astegon, Orserk, and Chillet are all good choices. You should also bring solid firearms yourself. At level 45, for example, you unlock the assault rifle. A flying mount is essential for avoiding damage—use it to dodge Bellanoir’s massive beam.

Bellanoir Libero boss guide: Phase change and counters

  • Level: 50
  • HP: 450,000 (Ultra: 900,000)

Bellanoir Libero is also Dark type, so Dragon Pals are generally effective. However, when its HP gets low, it heals and switches its attacks to Ice. This is dangerous because Ice is strong against Dragon. We recommend bringing a few Fire Pals for the second phase.

Blazamut Ryu boss guide: Element switch and best Pals

  • Level: 55
  • HP: 512,680 (Ultra: 1,025,360)

Blazamut Ryu is Dragon and Fire type, so we primarily recommend Ice and Water Pals. It also has a second phase, where it becomes Electric type. In general, Water Pals like Jormuntide or Neptunilius are a great pick, but also bring Ground Pals for phase two, such as Knocklem.

  • Level: 60
  • HP: 1,316,000 (Ultra: 1,974,000)

Xenolord combines Dark and Dragon, so once again Ice and Dragon Pals work well. It doesn’t change type at low HP, but it summons additional PalsXenovader and Xenogard — to make your life harder. Strong choices here include Frostallion, Neptunilius, and Bastigor. From this fight onward, we recommend leveling all Pals to max level.

Hartalis boss guide: Phases, barriers, and counters

  • Level: 65
  • HP: 909,000 (Ultra: 1,212,000)

The final and toughest Pal you can face in raids is Hartalis. In phase one, it’s Water and Grass, which doesn’t give you many potent offensive options. Electric Pals like Orserk are your best bet. When you reduce it to 0 HP, it enters phase two as a Neutral type. It sends out a shockwave you and your Pals must avoid, and it raises barriers you’ll need to break through. Neutral is weak to Dark, so we recommend Bellanoir Libero or Selyne.

Moonlord boss guide: Weak points and tactics

  • Level: 50 (Ultra: 65)
  • HP: 422,500 (Ultra: 1,956,000)

There’s one more raid boss, but it’s not a Pal — it’s a strange being with tentacles and a godlike form. You must target its individual parts — the head, hands, and body — to reduce its HP. The weak points are marked with eyes. Since the Moonlord has no elemental weaknesses, you can use any Pal you like.

Conclusion: Master Palworld raid bosses and claim your rewards

If you want to test your true strength, Palworld’s raid bosses are perfect for you. They’re a serious challenge, even for experienced players — but they’re worth it, since bosses drop valuable items. Our core tips: build for power and speed, and always play to type advantages. That gives you a clear edge. Also choose strategically where to fight: in your own base or in a separate arena. Both have pros and cons worth testing.
