In Palworld, choosing the right Active Skills for your Pal is crucial. These are the attacks your Pal will use in battle to deal damage. Each Pal can have only three of these skills active at a time, but you can swap them directly in the menu. Often, the element and the specific fight determine which attacks are better. However, some Pals have direct synergy between a particular skill and their Partner Skill. In addition, by using Condensation at the Pal Condenser you can squeeze up to 2.5x more damage out of these attacks! That makes it especially worthwhile to run certain attacks on these Pals.
Palworld Gobfin and Gobfin Ignis: Best Active Skills and Partner Skills

Gobfin is a Water Pal you can catch and train fairly early at level 14. In addition to a 10-20% attack bonus for the player, it can use the attack “Aqua Gun.” While this attack isn’t exclusive to Gobfin, it does benefit from its synergy. It deals a consistent 50 damage with a fast 2-second cooldown. Gobfin itself learns the attack at level 15.
Later, at level 35 on Obsidian Island, you can catch Gobfin Ignis. This Pal is tuned for the Active Skill “Spirit Flame,” a Fire/Dark-style attack with 80 damage and a 4-second cooldown. It also learns this attack at level 15, so it should already know it when you catch one. Gobfin Ignis can also increase the player’s attack by up to 20%.
As mentioned, we recommend Condensing these Pals as soon as possible to get the most out of them. 50 damage can quickly become 150 damage! Both Gobfins are fantastic early team members. Palworld Loupmoon and Loupmoon Cryst: Melee speed and powerful claw attacks

The second pair here is Loupmoon and Loupmoon Cryst. The regular Loupmoon focuses on the “Power Claw” attack, which it can learn at level 7. It’s a fast attack with 80 damage that you can push up to 200 damage. The Pal can also increase the attack speed of your melee weapons, a very useful bonus! You can catch Loupmoon at night from level 14.
The ice variant relies on a stronger attack called “Ice Claw.” While it has a longer 8-second cooldown, it deals 160 damage. You can only catch it at level 40 in the snowy region, and by then it will already be able to use the attack. Loupmoon Cryst also boosts the speed of your melee attacks, letting you take down enemies together.
Palworld Cinnamoth: Poison Fog for lasting DoT damage

Cinnamoth can’t damage enemies directly, but it can use the “Poison Fog” attack. It learns this skill at level 15 and can poison the target immediately. This status effect drains a Pal’s HP over time while it lasts. The cooldown is 30 seconds, but the effect lasts a long time and can hit multiple Pals at once. Poison can also be active alongside other effects, which makes it unique! You can catch Cinnamoth at level 16.
Palworld Bushi and Bushi Noct: Iaido for maximum burst

The two Bushi Pals are the only ones that share a unique attack. It’s “Iaido Slash,” a powerful sword cut worthy of a ninja. This attack also deals 160 damage with an 8-second cooldown. With full Condensation, you can reach up to 400 damage.
Bushi Noct additionally boosts melee damage outside of combat, i.e., while you’re still undetected. It also has slightly better stats. However, you’ll catch it later: Bushi from level 25, but Bushi Noct only from level 48.
Palworld Incineram and Incineram Noct: Inferno Claw and Nightmare Claw

Incineram is a very strong Fire/Dark Pal you should catch as soon as level 10 on Windswept Island. Don’t miss the chance, because its special attack “Inferno Claw” can deal 200 damage, even though the cooldown is 12 seconds. That kind of power this early is fantastic! However, it can only learn Inferno Claw at level 22, so you’ll need to train it a bit.
The Noct variant of Incineram is significantly stronger, and you can really put it to use from level 35. Only then can it learn its unique attack “Nightmare Claw.” It’s considerably stronger, with 400 damage and a 20-second cooldown. This attack shines when you can focus its power on a boss, though the long cooldown can be a drawback.
Palworld Sibelyx: Hailstorm in the late game

Sibelyx is more of a late-game pick, as its special attack is “Hailstorm,” which it only learns from level 50. You can catch this elegant Ice Pal at level 36 in the icy region and train it to get the most out of the attack. Hailstorm is a powerful move with 450 damage and a 20-second cooldown. With full Condensation, you’ll deal 1125 damage. Unlike other pairs, Sibelyx doesn’t have a second variant with its own special attack.
Palworld Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero: Endgame boss hunters with Nightmare Ray

For sheer endgame power in Palworld, few picks beat Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero. Both are incredibly strong Pals you should definitely catch. Their exclusive attacks work similarly. You can only obtain them from Raids and the eggs that result from them, not in the wild.
Bellanoir can use “Nightmare Ray,” an attack with 600 damage and a 30-second cooldown. With the Condenser, you can push its damage to 1500. The attack fires a focused beam at the target for precise hits. Bellanoir Libero can be equally strong with “Nightmare Bloom,” which sends out rays in a fan pattern that don’t always connect directly.
Conclusion: Use Palworld special attacks and Partner Skills wisely
Some Pals have direct synergy with a specific attack that they can further amplify via their Partner Skill. Not every such attack is exclusive, but some can only be learned by a single Pal. You can also power up the attack as you play by Condensing your Pal at a Pal Condenser. Since version 1.0 this has become much easier, letting you deal up to 2.5x more damage. Just as important is understanding the balance between damage and cooldown. Sometimes it’s better to attack faster and deal consistent damage over time.
