Downloading World in Minecraft

We describe in this article how you can download your savegame for Minecraft.
Tip: We recommend using an FTP program such as Filezilla.

Follow these steps:

  1. Start and stop your server. The status of your server must be Server is not running.
  2. Connect to the Gameserver FTP using your FTP program.
    You can find the login data required for Filezilla in your server configuration under FTP.
  3. Depending on the Minecraft version, the savegame is stored differently:
    • For Vanilla Minecraft, Forge, and Fabric, you can find the savegame in the following directory:
      /minecraft-data/world
      Download the world directory here.
    • For PaperMC and Purpur, the savegame is split into three directories:
      /minecraft-data/world
      /minecraft-data/world-nether
      /minecraft-data/world-the-end
      Download all three directories here.
    • If you need your UUID, download the usercache.json or usernamecache.json.
