Grass Pals play a very special role among all Pals. At first glance they may look weak, but they are some of the most useful Pals you can catch! Some hide truly practical combat abilities, but even more importantly, they are perfect for your base. When it comes to work, you simply can’t do without Grass Pals. They take care of your fields, and several have Partner Skills that boost base efficiency. In this guide, we take a closer look at Grass-type Pals and why you should absolutely make use of them.

Palworld Grass Pals: Strengths, weaknesses, and effects

Overview of Grass element strengths and weaknesses in Palworld

Grass is highly susceptible to Fire-type attacks, which will make sense to most players. In turn, Grass is effective against Ground. There are, in fact, a handful of Pals that are both Grass and Ground. Other dual types are fairly rare—most Pals are pure Grass. Grass attacks can entangle enemies in vines, slowing them down. Grass Pals themselves are immune to the “Muddy” status effect.

If you want to fight with unique Pals, Grass Pals are a great pick! Rent a Palworld server and start your own game server and look for the right partners for your adventure. Grass Pals really shine when deployed in a base, though. On a server with multiple players and camps, they’re fantastic for consistently producing enough resources.

Palworld: Best Grass Pals for combat

The best Grass Pals for combat in Palworld with strong abilities

Compared to other elements, Grass Pals aren’t necessarily great for combat. Their offense especially can lag behind, while other stats tend to be a bit better. What truly sets them apart are their unique abilities.

Our top 5 Grass Pals:

  1. Verdash boasts the highest Attack, also increases attack speed, and converts player attacks to Grass.
  2. Lyleen offers well-balanced combat stats and can restore a large amount of HP.
  3. Brahola is strong defensively with plenty of HP, making it a good tank.
  4. Warsect is similar to Brahola stat-wise, but it also raises your Defense and mitigates Fire damage.
  5. Wumpo Botan is the ultimate tank with very high Defense.

A few others deserve a mention. Tanzee, Lifmunk, and Mossanda can fight using their own firearms. Having a Bristla on the team increases the Attack of all Grass Pals—a great boost. Robinquill can seek out weak points for extra damage. Herbil can be extremely useful too, as it can revive you once.

There’s also a perfect combo: four Beegarde plus one Elizabee. This setup boosts Elizabee’s Attack and gives you a truly unique combat team.

Palworld: Grass Pals as workers in your base

Grass Pals working in your base: sowing, harvesting, and production in Palworld

In your base, Grass Pals are practically unbeatable because they can take on an extremely wide range of tasks. Most focus on Planting, Gathering, and Handiwork. Some can also handle Transporting, Logging, or Medicine Production. The majority of them have four or more work skills.

There are also unique Partner Skills:

  • A Lullu in your base speeds up field growth.
  • Prunelia increases your harvest yield, and this effect can stack.
  • Shroomer helps your Pals feel better by slowing their Sanity drain with its spores. Shroomer Noct is best for this.
  • Finally, keep Brahola at camp if you want Pals to lay eggs faster. This does not stack.

Your Ranch also benefits from two Pals. Caprity is great for continually producing Red Berries. Even more useful is Beegarde, which produces Honey.

Palworld: Grass Pals as mounts and rideable Pals

Grass Pals as mounts and rideable Pals in Palworld with useful effects

As mounts, Grass Pals are only marginally suitable. They also focus almost exclusively on ground mounts, with the exception of Quivern Botan. Still, some of their effects are worth a look. In general, though, we don’t recommend them as your main means of transport.

The best Grass mounts are:

  • Mammorest helps you harvest wood and ores more effectively while riding.
  • Palumba is already quick, but becomes even faster when you run over grass.
  • Quivern Botan is the only flying Pal here; its speed is increased, and it also boosts Grass-attacks.
  • Brahola is the fastest Grass Pal overall and has plenty of stamina—handy, even if it offers no extra effects.

Palworld: Partner Skills of Grass Pals for resources and loot

Partner Skills of Grass Pals for efficient resource gathering and more loot in Palworld

To wrap up, here are Pals that cover other jobs—primarily resource gathering. Gumoss can improve your logging efficiency when it’s in your team. Vaelet increases loot from Ground Pals when fighting together. Flopie is also handy: it acts on its own to pick up nearby items for you—great for not leaving anything behind.

To carry all those items, you’ll want either Broncherry or Wumpo Botan on the team. Both increase your maximum carry weight, with Wumpo Botan being the slightly better choice.

Lastly, there’s Ribunny Botan, which increases the Attack of Grass Pals in battle. Even more useful is its ability to boost work efficiency for Weapon Production. From such a cute Pal, you wouldn’t expect it to handle weapons—but with full Condensation you can reach up to + 400%.

Conclusion: Grass Pals as healers and base helpers in Palworld

You should primarily use Grass Pals for work in your base. Most can take on four or more tasks, focusing on planting, tending, and harvesting fields. Some are also great for logging, and a few can help with ores. In combat, Grass Pals aren’t necessarily strong, but several have healing abilities that can save you in a pinch. As mounts, they’re generally less suitable, as they’re slower and rarely offer speed-boosting effects.
