After two and a half years, it’s finally here: Palworld has reached version 1.0! With this major update and the full release, the game has changed significantly once again. There are, of course, loads of new Pals, new regions, and tons of new items. Many existing systems have also been expanded or even completely overhauled. The list of patch notes is extremely long, so starting a new save is absolutely worth it. That way you can rediscover all the adjustments without hurdles and enjoy the game with a fresh feel. In this post, we’ll look only at the biggest changes, and we’ll dive deeper into them later.

1. Over 70 new Palworld Pals to catch and train

The headline feature is, of course, the new Pals—that’s the heart of Palworld. Version 1.0 adds over 70 new Pals, bringing the total to 289 Pals. We can’t list them all here, but discovering them yourself is part of the fun. We’ll take a closer look at the Pals separately and point out which ones are especially worth it. Dark-type Pals dominate again with 16 new monsters, but Ice, Grass, and Ground also received several additions.

2. New Palworld regions: Sunreach and the World Tree

New regions were high on the community’s wish list—and we weren’t disappointed. First, there’s Sunreach, a formation of floating islands in the south of Feybreak. You’ll find a ton of new content there: new materials, Pals, items, and tower bosses.

The second new region is the World Tree, which had been widely speculated about. You can head there in the north, but it’s a separate map with mixed biomes and endgame content. It’s also the final stop to finally wrap up Palworld’s story.

Alongside these two large regions, a few new islands around Palpagos Island have been added. You’ll find both new and familiar Pals there—well worth a visit!

3. Palworld base-building: new building and decor options

Palworld base-building new parts and decor

Building your own bases is another core aspect of Palworld that’s received a fresh coat of paint. There are a few new building pieces, such as an inverted triangle for roofs, letting you build with more precision. Plus, there’s new furniture and decorations, including decorative plants. With your own game server, you can jump right in and try the new base mechanics: Rent a Palworld server.

Two major additions are the Water Construction Kit, which lets platforms float, and a new category of materials inspired by an ancient civilization. Both are things you’ll unlock much later.

4. Max level 80 and reworked technologies in Palworld

Speaking of unlocking, the max level has been raised from 65 to 80. That not only gives you and your Pals more room to grow, but also comes with a complete overhaul of the technologies. Many items and recipes have been adjusted to the new level curve, which is why it’s often better to start fresh. There are also dozens of new things to unlock. Don’t be surprised if the tech tree looks a bit different than before.

5. Palworld Statue of Power and Pal statuettes reworked

Palworld Statue of Power and Pal statuettes

One of the biggest changes to an existing system involves the statuettes and the Statue of Power. You can no longer find only Lifmunk statuettes, but a range of different Pals with different powers. There are now eleven Pal statuettes scattered across the map, such as Pengullet or Cattiva. At the Statue of Power, you can now boost more than just your capture rate—things like movement speed, climbing ability, and resistances as well. Explore Palpagos Island and find all these new statuettes.

6. Palworld work skills: rebalance for your Pals

Work skills have also been adjusted. They no longer cap at 5—they’ve been raised to 10. All Pals received a rebalance to better integrate this change. The goal is to strengthen the mid game and late game and encourage using a wider variety of Pals. Some late-game stations, for example, now require two or more Pals.

7. Palworld ancient stations: expanded late-game crafting

Late-game workstations have also been added, which you unlock between levels 66 and 80. There’s an ancient kitchen, a new watchtower, a cultivator, and a synthesizer. They’re all designed to make managing materials and resources easier and more compact. They’re meant for players who have progressed far and now want to expand their bases.

8. Palworld breeding: new cakes and mutations

Breeding new Pals is essential for some players to obtain powerful companions. That’s now been made easier thanks to several adjustments. For example, you can craft four new types of cake that increase your chances of getting better eggs.

The new mutations are also exciting, appearing with a low probability. These special Pals have better passive skills, higher IVs, and are already partially condensed. This lets you manage your breeding more efficiently and get the most out of your monsters.

9. Graphics, audio, and performance improved in Palworld

Palworld graphics, audio, and performance improved

Visually, the game has been tweaked to make it livelier and prettier. The water, in particular, now looks much nicer. Other aspects like textures, lighting, and draw distance have also been greatly improved. On top of that, new sounds make Palworld more immersive. Just about every system has been touched—from combat, to building, to Pal sounds.

Overall performance has seen a significant boost as well, especially for large bases and areas with many Pals. Less stutter, more fun!

10. Story quests and more NPCs in Palworld

While Palworld focuses on the open world, version 1.0 also brings long-awaited story quests. They aren’t quite as extensive as some expected, but they give the game and your adventure a clear throughline and new goals to pursue. You’ll also encounter many more NPCs offering side quests.

Conclusion: A fresh feel in Palworld 1.0

Palworld’s launch is a clear success. The game has received extensive changes and additions aimed at both veterans and newcomers. The focus shouldn’t be only on the many new Pals, but also on the overhaul of nearly every system in the game. Everything now runs smoother, is more balanced, and enables deeper gameplay. We definitely recommend starting fresh and experiencing it all anew.
