Wool has been in the game since the early Alpha days, with colored wool arriving in Beta. Concrete has been around for almost ten years and shines with its vibrant colors. Both, however, have suffered from being available only as full blocks.
Now you can fully unleash your creativity and build with colorful slabs and stairs however you like. These two palettes fill many gaps in the selection of slabs and stairs. You can also find wool stairs as part of the new abandoned camps, used as tents.
Seat cushions in Minecraft: decor, crafting, and use cases
You can now craft another block from the new wool slabs, enabling a feature players have long wished for. With three slabs of a single wool color, you can now craft seat cushions in 16 colors. You can recolor them afterward if you like. They also naturally appear in some abandoned camps.
Seat cushions can be placed anywhere except in liquids. So you can put them on the ground, on stairs, or even inside certain blocks. There are hardly any limits here, which makes cushions extremely versatile. That is possible because cushions count as an entity rather than a block. This is why they can be used so flexibly.
Of course, the cushions are not just decor; you can also sit on them. You no longer have to crouch awkwardly and can take a proper break in-game from now on. How creatively seat cushions can be used remains to be seen. Try them yourself and explore the possibilities.
Straw bed and sleeping bag in Minecraft: sleep without changing your spawn point
From sitting to lying down, there is a new item for you here as well. Fitting the abandoned camps, you will also want a sleeping bag, which you can now craft. From three hay bales you can make a straw bed in version 26.3. You get four at once, which you can carry with you. You can also find them in the abandoned camps.
In general, they work like beds, but they are intended as a temporary place to sleep on a long journey. After one night they break again. Even better: They do not change your spawn point. The problem with beds is that sleeping in them always changes your spawn point, which is rather annoying when traveling. With straw beds, this problem is gone.
New explorer maps in Minecraft: find more structures
Lastly, there was an update for maps. First, the texture of all maps was adjusted, making them much more legible and clearer. This applies to both player maps and explorer maps. The latter have also been updated, as you can now obtain even more of these explorer maps to find structures. You will find all of them in the barrels and chests in abandoned camps.
