On October 15, Enshrouded finally leaves Early Access, and the 1.0 update brings a whole lot of new content. Plenty has already changed beforehand, too, as the last updates introduced many new features. So we’re taking another look at the best tips and tricks for players who are either jumping in for the first time or returning to Enshrouded after a few years. Most of these systems should still apply to the full release, albeit with possible small tweaks. Otherwise, you can already get started now and dive right into the new content in mid-October!
1. Enshrouded farming: Create infinite soil and fertile ground

The hoe is an extremely cool tool that does more than you might think at first glance. In general, it’s meant to level and flatten the ground. You can then build on it without issues. But the hoe has another use that really shines in farming. With it, you can spread different soil types, especially soil for growing crops, infinitely.
To do this, place a mound of the desired soil on the ground and then spread it with the hoe. This seems intended, as it hasn’t been patched out. Let’s hope it stays that way. 2. Enshrouded combat strategy: Avoid group fights and play tactically

Fights in Enshrouded can get tough, especially when you face multiple enemies at once. A single foe is often no problem, but you can be overwhelmed very quickly. You can’t always charge in with your weapon raised and hope you’re stronger. How you handle group fights often decides between life and death.
In general, it’s good to break up the group first. Ranged weapons are great for quietly picking off a few enemies from afar. You can also sneak, a system that got even better with the latest Update 8. Enemies now have an indicator showing how well they can see you. The key is to thin out groups so you can then deal with the remaining mobs.
In multiplayer, our tips still apply; ideally, combine different playstyles to focus different enemy types. And if you don’t want to play alone, then rent an Enshrouded server and play with friends.
3. Enshrouded animal husbandry: Tame animals and farm resources

Animal husbandry is often underestimated and treated as optional, but it can help you set up your own farm early on. With bait, you can tame various animals in each biome and bring them back to your base. There, they can breed and drop valuable items. Sometimes you’ll have to butcher animals, but at least you’ll ensure there are always offspring. You can read more about animal husbandry in Enshrouded in our article (Enshrouded animal taming: Build a barn and breeding guide) .
4. Enshrouded storage optimization: Magical chests and Quick Stack Stations

A lot has changed regarding storage in Enshrouded. At the center are magical chests, whose items can be used by all machines within a certain radius. And since Update 8, all building materials from nearby magical chests are also used when constructing.
Additionally, since Update 8 there are Quick Stack Stations, a sort of floor plate that lets you deposit all matching items into all adjacent chests. You no longer have to open every chest manually; you can auto-sort matching items right away. Together, these features are essential if you want a clean, well-organized storage setup.
5. Enshrouded weapons: Master special attacks and the Focus bar

Returning players will notice changes to the combat system. First, every melee weapon now has an additional heavy attack that you can charge by holding the attack button and then unleash. Second, there’s now a Focus bar at the bottom of the screen that fills during combat. When it’s full, you can perform a powerful attack. You’ll find related skills in the new skill tree.
6. Enshrouded skill tree: Invest early in survival skills

Our last two tips concern the new skill tree. It’s likely changed the most since the game launched. Some abilities have been tuned, moved around, or completely reworked. For example, you can now get the double jump in the middle.
Overall, you can invest points much more easily and pursue your desired path. Some skills can now be upgraded multiple times. No matter how you want to fight, we strongly recommend the Survival branch. It not only offers plenty of stamina upgrades, but also Dessert Stomach. This gives you an additional food slot—so 4 slots instead of just three.
7. Enshrouded armor: Upgrades and rune bonuses for skills

Lastly, you can now boost your skills with your armor. This feature was also introduced recently and helps tailor your gear to your combat style. Depending on rarity, an armor piece or accessory can have up to 5 additional upgrades. You can enhance these with runes at the blacksmith. Some upgrades grant more armor, HP, stamina, or magic, while others improve specific skills. These align with the combat style best suited to the respective gear. So keep an eye out for pieces that further enhance the abilities you’ve already learned.
Conclusion: Get optimally prepared for Enshrouded 1.0
A lot has changed in Enshrouded with the recent updates. Much of it sets the stage for the upcoming full version, which will also bring a fresh wave of features. It certainly doesn’t hurt to start anew now and explore the game. Admire the expanded combat system and get familiar with it, and start building your dream home. Tame some animals and set up a farm, or begin working on a clever storage system.
