With more than 70 new Pals, fresh creatures can be found all across the game. We’ve already looked at the eight best new early-game Pals (Palworld Ranch Guide: All Ranch Pals & Best Item Farms) and are now pushing deeper into Palpagos Island. With the max level changed, the mid-game has shifted a bit too, so we’re expanding our search for the most useful Pals to cover all levels between 25 and 45. Hidden here are some truly excellent Pals that can make your life much easier. Whether as helpers at your base or in combat, you’ll meet new companions and train them up. Expect trips through scorching deserts and up frozen peaks.

Palworld mid-game new Pals and locations on Palpagos Island

Sekhmet location and Anubis synergy: mid-game workbench boost

Think of Sekhmet as the little sister of Anubis, one of the most popular Pals in the game. You can first find and catch it around level 37 in the Durstdünen, and later on the southern Sandsteintor island. What really stands out is its fast work at the workbench and on the assembly line, thanks to Crafting Lv. 6 and an extra 30–60% speed from its partner skill.

Alternatively, it also supports Anubis at your base, making him work 20–40% faster. If you want an efficient base, you shouldn’t skip Sekhmet.

Moldron location, mount, and base work: a mid-game fire dragon

If you only take one Pal from this list for its versatility, make it Moldron. This fire dragon brings a lot to the table and can be found relatively early. It lives on the Obsidiankrater island, on the side facing the Bambusklamm. It appears between levels 32 and 35.

Moldron can be used as a mount from level 36, even though it’s not particularly fast. But when you fight together and have four additional Earth- or Fire-type Pals on your team, its attack increases by 4–8% per Pal. That lets you dish out serious damage. At your base it can also handle Fire Generation Lv. 5 and Mining Lv. 5—two high-value work skills. If you want to try Moldron with friends, you’re in the right place: Rent an affordable Palworld server now and catch Pals together.

Skutlass location and sword ability: massive mid-game damage

Skutlass has a striking design. At first glance it looks like a long fish, but there’s a weapon hidden inside that you can use in battle. That’s exactly what its ability is about: you can wield it as a sword in combat, dealing 2,600 to 3,900 damage. Just be careful not to use it for too long, or it will become incapacitated.

You can also find this swordfish relatively early. Walk along the Dämmersande north of the Bambusklamm, and you should be able to catch this Pal on the beach at around level 30.

Snugloo location and base skills: crafting, transport, mining, cooling

This fluffy Pal is small in size and less noticeable, which is reflected in its ability. With Snugloo on your team, other Pals and enemies take longer to notice you—ideal if you want to avoid fights. Find Snugloo around level 32 at the Eisgrat.

Beyond that, this little yeti Pal is very useful at your base, handling four tasks: Crafting and Transport at Lv. 2, plus Mining and Cooling at Lv. 3. It’s well-balanced and versatile.

Leafan location, abilities, and grass-team buffs

Leafan sports a great design and doubles down on its own training. Catch it as early as level 28 in the Grünbach and use it in fights alongside other Grass-type Pals. Its ability is similar to Moldron’s, except Leafan boosts both attack and defense by 2–6% for each additional Grass-type Pal on your team.

It’s also a surprisingly good base Pal, able to handle Crafting, Transport, Gathering, and Planting. It’s not as strong as some other Grass Pals, but it’s a solid pick for lighter tasks.

Gildra location, partner revive, and base skills

Among the coolest new Pals is Gildra, with its elegant, ornate body and commanding presence. You can catch it around level 39 in the Durstdünen, making it a perfect pick for mid-game Palworld. It also helps at your base with Crafting Lv. 5, Medicine Production Lv. 4, and Transport Lv. 2.

Its partner ability deserves special mention: Gildra can revive itself once during a shared battle. Its satiety drops to 0, but it gets a second chance to take on tough Pals and prove itself.

Rayhound Cryst in Palworld as a fast ice mount with a defense boost

Rayhound Cryst location, mount, and defense boost for Ice Pals

The Electric-type Pal Rayhound also received an Ice variant in version 1.0. You can find Rayhound Cryst at the foot of the Geisterzinnen at levels 35 and 36. Primarily, it’s a fast mount that can also perform a double jump. Its saddle unlocks at Technology Level 32.

Its second ability is only useful in combat: Rayhound Cryst can increase the defense of other Ice-type Pals on your team by 15–30%. This does not stack, but it’s very handy for an Ice-focused team.

Needoll and Needoll Noct locations and Entangled effects

Lastly, let’s look at Needoll and its night-active variant, Needoll Noct. You can find both in the desert, at levels 31 and 33. Naturally, Needoll Noct is only catchable at night. They have two different abilities, but both revolve around the “Entangled” status effect.

Regular Needoll makes Entangled enemies take 50–65% more damage from attacks. Needoll Noct, on the other hand, makes player attacks inflict “Entangled”. Neither effect stacks multiple times, but they can be used in parallel.

Conclusion: Best mid-game Pals for levels 25 to 45

With version 1.0, new Pals have been added to many existing regions. They do get a bit rarer beyond the starting area, but several finds are absolutely worth it. In particular, the varied partner abilities make these Pals stand out from the rest. They let you build custom teams and use different Pals situationally. And at your base, don’t underestimate a few of these Pals as dependable workers.
