In our last overview of your Pals’ work suitabilities, we looked at watering fields. But of course, those fields have to be planted first so you can bring in plenty of fresh harvest later. In Palworld, you can grow various crops, from wheat and tomatoes to onions. You can then use them for dishes that satisfy your Pals’ hunger or grant special effects. So it is important to keep replanting fields and then harvesting them. But which Pals are the most effective planters?
Palworld planting explained: Tending fields and securing food

Right from the start in Palworld, you can set up fields and have your Pals tend them. Some of them specialize in spreading seeds as quickly as possible, so your harvest grows as fast as it can. They are supported by watering Pals and gathering Pals, letting your field management run almost automatically.
Basically, you don’t have to stress too much about planting because this task is only temporary. That is why many Pals can also take on a range of other jobs. Still, with the right planting Pals you can get more done or use their Partner Skills effectively. You can rent a Palworld server for your base from us to jump straight into setting up fields. Pals that multitask are always a solid choice for this job, and below we list the 15 best Pals for planting.
All fields you can plant with Planting:
- Berry Plantation (Level 5)
- Wheat Plantation (Level 15)
- Tomato Plantation (Level 21)
- Lettuce Plantation (Level 25)
- Potato Plantation (Level 29)
- Carrot Plantation (Level 32)
- Onion Plantation (Level 36)
- Ancient Cultivation Device (Level 78)
Best Pals for Planting in Palworld from Level 1 to 80
Planting is a fairly focused task and doesn’t need to run continuously. So you should lean toward Pals that can handle multiple jobs. But you can also use Pals that specialize solely in spreading seed. In our top list, we look at the best Pals that naturally have Planting, and whose levels you can raise by condensing in the Pal Essence Condenser. We also consider Partner Skills that create interesting synergies.
Palworld early game planting Pals, Level 1 to 30

Lifmunk: The absolute classic for your first base in Palworld. Lifmunk can plant, craft, gather, lumber, and produce medicine. A true jack of all trades. Catch it as early as level 1, right at the start.
Clovee: Clovee is more targeted, handling just Planting and Gathering. That gives it higher potential in both tasks. You can also catch this Pal very early, from level 3. On top of that, it increases Gathering in your base by +1 level, a skill you definitely want.
Elgrove: Available from level 24, Elgrove is a well-rounded Pal. It is versatile in the base and can reach Planting level 5. A great practical upgrade over Lifmunk.
Vaelet: Alongside Planting level 5, Vaelet can also cover four more work areas. In a Ranch, it can also gather seeds for you, practically feeding your fields on its own. You can find it from level 20 in the first wildlife sanctuary.
Petallia: Petallia’s Partner Skill increases Planting by +1 level. Petallia can help with planting itself, while also handling Handiwork, Transporting, Medicine Production, and Gathering. A truly useful Pal you can catch at level 28.
Palworld mid game planting Pals, Level 31 to 50

Braloha: This big Pal can reach Planting level 7, plus Mining and Gathering. You should always keep it at your base because it also hatches eggs faster in the Breeding Farm. Two birds with one stone. Catch Braloha from level 33.
Broncherry: Alongside Gumoss, Broncherry is the only Pal whose sole work suitability is Planting. Because of that, it can reach level 9, planting extremely fast. That alone makes it worth seeking out from level 33 and assigning to your base.
Mammorest: This grass mammoth is handy because, besides Planting, it can also gather wood and mine. That lets you deploy it flexibly in your base, and you can catch it from around level 26.
Quivern Botan: A versatile Pal that still focuses on planting. It can reach level 7 while also taking on four other jobs. In the wild, you can catch it from level 45 at the earliest.
Shroomer Noct: One way or another, a Shroomer Noct belongs in your base because it increases all Pals’ Sanity. It also helps with Planting up to level 5, and supports Handiwork, Lumbering, and Gathering.
Palworld late game planting Pals, Level 51 to 80

Lullu: With a Lullu at your base, your crops grow 50-70% faster. A skill you should always keep active. Lullu can also help directly with both Planting and Gathering. However, it only becomes catchable on Sakurajima, around level 50.
Prunelia: Arguably the best Pal for this job, together with Lullu. Its ability increases harvest yield by 18-35%, and it can also help in five different work areas. You can find it on Feybreak from level 52, and there is basically no reason not to use it for this role.
Mycora: You will only find this Pal at the World Tree from level 75, but with condensing it can reach Planting level 8 and also handle other tasks. It also improves Medicine Production by +1 for all other Pals at the base.
Lyleen: A powerful late-game base Pal with potential for Planting level 9, plus Handiwork, Gathering, and Medicine Production. That makes Lyleen one of the few Pals that can be this efficient. You can catch an Alpha Lyleen at level 58 or find it later at the World Tree at level 75.
Ophydia: Aside from Dandilord, which we excluded, Ophydia is the only Pal that can naturally reach Planting level 10. It also has Watering level 7, making it doubly strong. However, Ophydia is a true endgame Pal, as you can only catch it at level 80.
Conclusion: The best Palworld planting Pals for your base
Planting seeds in different fields is a key part of food production in Palworld. Combined with Watering and Gathering, these kinds of bases can basically run fully autonomously. Planting is only one part, but it should be done efficiently and quickly. The Pals can then focus on other tasks or, thanks to their presence and Partner Skills, further support your harvest. Examples include Lullu, Prunelia, Shroomer Noct, and Braloha.
