Your bases in Palworld can handle many different jobs, but a key aspect is producing food. Not only do you need to eat, your Pals do too! Work can really wear them out, so they need a snack now and then. To build this directly into storage, you need to farm fields. And that of course includes proper field irrigation. This is where Water Pals come in, as they focus on this task. But which ones water your fields best? And what else can they do? We take a closer look at all of that in this guide.
Palworld irrigation: Water fields efficiently and run machines

Pals with the Watering work suitability are primarily great for tending your fields and supporting other Pals with planting and gathering. This lets your Pals handle the harvest process from start to finish. Watering makes crops grow faster and yield more.
You also need a Watering Pal for several other processes at your base. Water is required to operate certain processing stations, especially for crushing and milling items, whether that is wheat into flour or crushing Pal Souls or unused Spheres. Keep these processes in mind as well. Rent a Palworld server and use Watering Pals efficiently to cover different areas of work.
All fields in Palworld that need watering:
- Berry Plantation (Level 5)
- Wheat Plantation (Level 15)
- Tomato Plantation (Level 21)
- Lettuce Plantation (Level 25)
- Potato Plantation (Level 29)
- Carrot Plantation (Level 32)
- Onion Plantation (Level 36)
- Tech Fruit Garden (Level 71)
- Ancient Cultivator (Level 78)
Other machines for Watering Pals:
- Crusher (Level 8)
- Mill (Level 15)
- Ancient Generator (Level 75), for cooling
Palworld: Best Watering Pals from Early to Late Game
As you can see, Watering Pals cover a wide range of tasks. Their focus, however, is definitely on watering fields to produce the food you need. You will need them from the very start, since the first field is available at level 5. From there you can keep ramping up production. Here are 15 Pals we recommend considering. We focus on the Watering level you can reach naturally and through Condensation only. With appropriate Manuals you can boost the skill further.
Palworld Early Game: Watering Pals level 1 to 30

- Teafant: Catch this cute elephant at level 2 right at the start. It only has Watering and can specialize in it. You can push it to level 5 via the Pal Essence Condenser.
- Jelliette: One half of arguably the best combo for watering your fields. It can support Jellroy to water 50 to 120 percent faster. Fish it from the water around the starter area. The effect does not stack.
- Jellroy: Together with Jelliette’s power, the best Watering Pal you can fish at night from level 1. Later, we recommend using Manuals to raise its work level further.
- Amione: Only Watering level 1, but it gives all other Pals at the base +1 level to that skill. You can catch it at level 9, so it works well as base support.
- Penking: A solid base Pal that can take on many jobs. You can raise Watering up to level 4. Catch Penking from level 20 in the first Sanctuary.
Palworld Mid Game: Watering Pals level 31 to 50

- Elphidran Aqua: Another Watering-focused Pal. It can reach level 7 and also gather wood on the side. Catch Elphidran Aqua from level 33 on the Ice Ridge.
- Ghangler (Ignis): Also very strong for this job with great potential. Fish it mainly at night from the sea around Sakurajima. If you also need Kindling, go for Ghangler Ignis, found around Feybreak.
- Azurobe: This Pal can focus solely on watering and easily reach level 8. You can fish it fairly early from level 10, but more reliably from level 35 in the lake at the Bamboo Thicket.
- Relaxaurus: This water dinosaur offers Watering level 6 and Transport level 5, a good combo for your storage. You can find it sporadically from level 30, mainly around the Bamboo Thicket or Greenstream.
- Skutlass: This swordfish is versatile, focusing on watering and lumbering. It is also handy for hauling in the harvest from your fields. You can fish it from level 30 around the Twilight Sands.
Palworld Late Game: Watering Pals level 51 to 80

- Broncherry Aqua: A pure Watering Pal that can reach level 9. It also increases the chance of Alpha Eggs, making it great to pair with a breeding base. Catch it at level 51 at Greenstream.
- Faleris Aqua: Can water up to level 9 and transport up to level 7, a strong combo. It also flies and takes up less space than other Pals. Catch it from level 65 south of Feybreak or on Sunreach.
- Shaolong: Has the highest potential of all Watering Pals and can also gather. However, it is very large and not always practical. It only appears from level 76 in the World Tree.
- Jormuntide: High potential and only does Watering, but it is a true endgame Pal and only available from level 80. Its hitbox, like Shaolong’s, is often too large. The same goes for Neptilius, which is even harder to catch.
- Suzaku Aqua: This Pal also naturally reaches Watering level 10 and brings other advantages. It is smaller and more agile and available a bit earlier, from level 68 on Sunreach. Alongside Jelliette and Jellroy, we find it perfect for watering.
Conclusion: The best Palworld Pals for watering your fields
Producing your own food is a key process at any base in Palworld. Thankfully, Pals can handle it entirely on their own. Pals with Watering play a crucial role, ensuring seeds thrive and deliver a solid harvest. They do not need to water plants constantly, but they should be able to reach all fields easily. What matters here is speed and a bit of finesse. Even though large Pals often have a higher level, they are not always the right choice.
