Kindling is one of the eleven jobs in Palworld that can be handled directly by a Pal. Igniting certain machines is a key part of any base, which is why these Pals play such an important role in your workflow. There are plenty of Pals that can do this, which can make choosing one tricky. And of course, the best Pals are not available right from the start. But you will almost always need a Pal with Kindling, so it is important to pick wisely. Today we are giving you a comprehensive guide on which Pals you should use to start fires.
Palworld Kindling: These machines require Kindling

Fire plays an exceptionally important role in Palworld, because you need its power for many processes in your base. For one, you can use it to smelt the ore you find into metal ingots, which you then need for other recipes such as weapons or armor. Fire is also used for cooking food to feed yourself and your Pals. And of course, fire is a good source of light and heat, which also matters in Palworld.
These machines all require Kindling to run:
Stations for ore processing:
- Primitive Furnace (Level 10)
- Improved Furnace (Level 34)
- Electric Furnace (Level 44)
- Gigantic Furnace (Level 58)
- Ancient Furnace (Level 66)
Cooking stations:
- Campfire (Level 2)
- Cooking Pot (Level 17)
- Electric Kitchen (Level 41)
- Large Kitchen (Level 49)
- Ancient Kitchen (Level 70)
Structures for heat:
- Heater (Level 17)
- Electric Heater (Level 41)
Kindling is also needed for a wide range of decor and light sources, including torches, fireplaces, chandeliers, and other elements.
Best Kindling Pals in Palworld: overview Level 1 to 80
As you can see, fire is always needed and you should have the right Pal in your base. Depending on your progress, the available Pals change. We focus on the values you can reach with wild Pals and their natural potential (Condensation). With breeding and manuals, you can push almost any Pal to Kindling Lv. 10. That is really only feasible for players who have finished Palworld or are very late into the game.
Palworld early game: Kindling Pals Level 1 to 30

Foxparks: The classic starter Pal that focuses solely on Kindling. Conveniently, you can raise its Kindling from Lv. 1 to Lv. 5 via Condensation at the Pal Essence Condenser. You can catch it right at the start of your adventure and put it to work in your base.
Flambelle: Also great as a first Kindling Pal, but it can handle other tasks and even produce Flame Organs at the Ranch. You should disable that if you do not want it.
Bushi: A solid all-rounder you can catch around Level 25. Can take on many base jobs, including Kindling.
Pyrin: With few other jobs, it can focus on starting fires and naturally reach Kindling Lv. 7.
Arsox: Often overlooked, but a good upgrade. You can catch it around Level 15; it has Kindling and Lumbering. That makes it easy to condense and quickly push it to Kindling Lv. 6.
Palworld mid game: Kindling Pals Level 31 to 50

Katress Ignis: Arguably the most important Pal with Kindling Lv. 3, but as part of your base it can raise that work level for all other Pals by +1. This can be very handy when you need more manpower. Katress Ignis can only be caught in dungeons on Sakurajima, so it is quite rare.
Moldron: Found on Obsidian Island from about Level 32. It only has Kindling and Mining, but excels at both. The best Pal to swap between these two tasks.
Ghangler Ignis: A surprisingly good Pal for this job and you can fish it up from the sea at various locations from around Level 40. Nimble, fast, and efficient.
Blazehowl: A larger Pal, but it can handle both Kindling and Lumbering. Also catchable on Obsidian Island.
Incineram: Likewise fairly versatile, especially small and fast, and good at multitasking. Also native to Obsidian Island, but you can find it earlier too, around Levels 10 and 23.
Palworld late game: Kindling Pals Level 51 to 80

Sootseer: Not necessarily the best pure Kindling Pal, but it can handle four jobs and also produce Bones at the Ranch. Catch it at night on Sakurajima.
Chillet Ignis: You can also catch Chillet Ignis on Sakurajima. Since it focuses only on Gathering and Kindling, it is very well suited for this job. You can naturally reach up to Kindling Lv. 7.
Kitsun Noct: Can only do Kindling and can reach Lv. 8. It is also small and nimble, plus nocturnal, letting it work at all times. A really good choice for anything that needs fire. Catch it from around Level 60 on Feybreak.
Whalaska Ignis: This Pal is great when you use the Ancient Furnace. It requires both Cooling and Kindling, which Whalaska Ignis can alternate between. It is only available at the World Tree, but is fairly common when fishing there.
Renjishi: The theoretically best Pal for the job, with Kindling Lv. 8, which you can raise to Lv. 10. However, it is quite large and takes up a lot of space. You can only catch it at the World Tree.
Conclusion: The best Pals for Kindling in your Palworld base
Starting fires is an important skill that should be handled by at least one Pal in virtually every base you build. It spans several work areas, including smelting ore into ingots and cooking food. You can find a total of 44 Pals that have this work suitability. It is worth swapping them out for better Pals as you progress. Later, you can boost their productivity with the Pal Essence Condenser or manuals.
