Uploading Savegame in Sons of The Forest

In this article, we describe how to upload a savegame for Sons of The Forest.
Tip: We recommend using an FTP program such as Filezilla.
Important: You may need to set your server to Advanced Mode.
The server then must remain in that mode; otherwise, changes made will be reverted.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Stop your server. The status of your server must be Server not running!
  2. Connect with your FTP client to Savegames-FTP.
    You can find the login details in the FTP overview when you click on FTP.
  3. The savegame is uploaded into the following directory:
    ConfigID/Saves/DedicatedServer/Multiplayer
    Note: You can find the ConfigID or Configuration ID for your server on our site under Gameserver.
    For example, if your ConfigID is 123456, it would look like this: /123456/Saves/DedicatedServer/Multiplayer
  4. Open your server settings and click on dedicatedserver.cfg
  5. Find the following line:
    "SaveSlot": X,
    Replace X with the value of your savegame, which you can find in the folder name 000000000X.
    Click Save
  6. Start your server
