Sons of the Forest: All 16 Blueprints – Locations & Uses

Sons of the Forest: All 16 Blueprints – Locations & Uses

Even though your blueprint guidebook already lets you build a lot, both in free build and with presets, there are some hidden recipes you have to find first. While some are just fun toys or upgrades to what you already have, other blueprints are genuinely important. For the mid and late game these recipes are absolutely useful, and you should grab them! We’ll take a closer look at every location and how to use them.

Tip: Many traps require electricity. Plan for power sources (generators, Solafite) as well as wiring so your defenses run reliably.

Sons of the Forest west side: Blueprint locations & tips

Sons of the Forest west side – map with blueprint locations and tips

1. Charged Cross blueprint – Location and use

Location: In the northern beach cave, next to the artifact (always go right at junctions).

Use: Works like a large cross that uses electricity to repel weak cannibals and demons. It shines on them and is perfect for defending your base! You can also use it to help you find your way back home.

2. Glider Launcher blueprint – Location and use

Location: In a small cave upstream from the Entertainment Bunker.

Use: Use it like a trampoline to launch straight up from a standstill and deploy your glider. Perfect for surveying the island.

3. Solafite Generator blueprint – Location and use

Location: In a cave on the southwestern coast surrounded by chain-link fences. You’ll find the blueprint among skulls.

Use: Slowly produces Solafite so you don’t have to mine it in caves with a pickaxe. Perfect for the late game and for upgrading your armor. Also used with the artifact that lets you teleport.

4. Multi-Trap blueprint – Location and use

Location: In a small cave in the southwest corner of the island, a bit south of the long lake. Use the blue and orange markers on your map to line up the cave between them.

Use: A trap to protect your camp from attackers. As the name suggests, it can take out multiple enemies at once. It delivers electric shocks, burns foes, and deals other damage. Very handy for repelling larger raids (but also very expensive to build).

5. Teleporter blueprint – Location and use

Location: Not far from the previous spot, in the southwest of the map near a larger camp (where you also find the night vision goggles). Look for the small cave.

Use: Used together with the artifact to teleport around the map. Use only after finishing the story.

6. Spear Launcher blueprint – Location and use

Location: Go to the south side of the big mountain and look for the entrance to an ice cave. You’ll find the blueprint on a skeleton impaled by a spear.

Use: Another trap for base defense. You should absolutely build it, as it’s one of the best traps in the game. Must be powered.

7. Gore Sofa blueprint – Location and use

Location: In a wooden hut at the southern end of the lake in the middle of the island’s main mountain range. Also found on a skeleton.

Use: A decidedly grotesque furniture piece you can craft from the skin and body parts of cannibals. It definitely catches the eye!

8. Clock blueprint – Location and use

Location: Follow the river from the northeast of the map toward the center of the mountain. As the river flows into the lake, look for an ice cave. Climb down the ropes and pick up the blueprint next to a skeleton.

Use: A large wall clock that shows the current in-game time. Cannibal hands serve as the clock hands, adding a horror vibe.

9. Crusher Trap blueprint – Location and use

Location: Found in a cave on the northeastern coast near a fishing village. The entrance is inside one of the huts. Go left at the fork; the blueprint is hidden behind a waterfall.

Use: Also one of the best traps in the game, as it crushes your enemies. It’s powered by a motor and effectively pulls foes in to kill them.

10. Spinner Trap blueprint – Location and use

Location: In an abandoned camp not far from the previous point. Head a bit farther south inland and you should find more wooden huts.

Use: A trap that swings out arms and can kill many enemies at once. It’s incredibly effective and hits pretty much every attacker in the head.

11. Item Plating blueprint – Location and use

Location: Go farther to the southwest, directly above the small round pond. There’s a cave where you can find this blueprint. The same cave where you find the pickaxe and Solafite.

Use: Used in the late game after the story to enhance your gear and items with Solafite.

12. Armor Upgrade (Ancient Armor) blueprint – Location and use

Location: Go to the luxury bunker and find the golden door at the end. Next to it you’ll find a skeleton with the blueprint.

Use: Required for the story. Use Solafite to upgrade the Ancient Armor so you can pass through the golden door.

13. Leg Lamp blueprint – Location and use

Location: Right on the southern bank of the river that leads inland. Marked by a red flare and a blue question mark on your map. Enter the nearby mines and find the blueprint at the end.

Use: A decorative lamp made from a cannibal’s leg and deer hide.

14. Bone Tower Defense blueprint – Location and use

Location: In a cave far to the southeast of the island. The spot is marked with an orange icon on the GPS.

Use: A tower made of skulls and bones that you can activate with the artifact. It’s great for deterring nearby enemies. You should definitely build one in your base!

15. Spotlight blueprint – Location and use

Location: A little south of the previous spot, also in a small cave. Marked by a blue question mark on the map and a red smoke plume in the overworld.

Use: A very bright and effective light for a base. Also needs electricity.

16. Gore Chair blueprint – Location and use

Location: In a camp on the beach on the southeastern edge of the island. Found in one of the wooden huts, recognizable by the two armchairs in front.

Use: Another grotesque decor piece for your base. Crafted from the remains of cannibals and a perfect match for the Gore Sofa in item seven on this list.
