You’re getting close to the end of Satisfactory’s main storyline, because with Tier 9 you’ll complete the last milestone currently in the game (Version 1.1). This tier unlocks a lot of useful content again, including improved conveyor belts, new transport options, and some of the final machines you’ll use to produce late‑game items. Many sections build on each other, so it’s best to work through them from top to bottom. It’s definitely not an easy task, but afterwards you’ll be able to build anything you want! Here’s how to finish Tier 9 and which practical items you’ll unlock along the way.

Matter conversion in Satisfactory: Unlock the Converter and use SAM efficiently

Satisfactory Tier 9 Converter and SAM for ore conversion

The materials for this first step are easy to obtain since you already produce them for the Space Elevator. And with the Converter you’ll get a truly fantastic machine for the late game!

Complete with:

  • 100x Fused Modular Frame
  • 250x Radio Control Unit
  • 500x Cooling System

The Converter is an extremely handy little machine you receive in Tier 9. It lets you turn any ore into any other ore by adding Reanimated SAM. You may know this from MAM research (Satisfactory Alien Tech: SAM, Somersloop, Mercer Sphere & Depot) and now it finds its true use. Two new metals are also added: FICSIT Ingots and FICSIT Trigon. You’ll need these for the Biochemical Modeler, a component for Space Elevator Phase 5.

You’ll also unlock the production of Diamonds. Normally, you compress them from Coal in the Particle Accelerator, but there are also many alternate recipes. Diamonds are crucial for Time Crystals and Dark Matter Crystals.

Quantum Encoder in Satisfactory: Dark Matter and new high‑end items

Quantum Encoder in Satisfactory with dark matter and new items

Unlock the matter conversion section first, as you’ll need some of those components for the next steps. Now you’re moving into quantum encoding and dark matter.

Complete with:

  • 50x Time Crystal
  • 100x FICSIT Trigon
  • 200x Turbo Motor
  • 400x Supercomputer

Satisfactory now dives into highly complex physical processes. In the Quantum Encoder you can craft many high‑tier items, but you’ll need Excited Photonic Matter. You can generate this in the Converter without an input product. Processing it produces Dark Matter Residue.

This new machine adds four new items to the game: Dark Matter Crystal, Superposition Oscillator, Neural Quantum Processor, and AI Expansion Server. As the names suggest, they’re no joke, and you’ll need many of them for the following sections and for Space Elevator Phase 5. Most are made in the Quantum Encoder, which means dark matter is always produced as residue. You’ll then use that residue for the crystals. The AI Expansion Server is likely the most complex item, as it requires several of the other components.

FICSIT Blueprints Mk. 3: Larger blueprint areas for efficient factory building

FICSIT Blueprints Mk. 3 with 48-meter blueprint area

To make your life easier, you should unlock this as well. Blueprints let you build factories modularly, and you’ll now unlock the largest template.

Complete with:

  • 100x Neural Quantum Processor
  • 250x Time Crystal
  • 500x FICSIT Trigon
  • 500x Fused Modular Frame

The Mk. 3 blueprint size now allows dimensions of 48 meters in every direction. This lets you plan a lot and save important build templates for repeated use. You can of course use them in your own single‑player world, but also share them online. There are plenty of places on the web where you can download blueprints to use as well.

Portals and spatial energy regulation: Singularity Cell and Warp Drive

Portals in Satisfactory with Singularity Cell and Warp Drive for teleporting

Transport becomes ever more important, and you won’t want to run across the whole map all the time. With quantum mechanics, you can now simply teleport using Portals.

Complete with:

  • 100x Superposition Oscillator
  • 250x Turbo Motor
  • 500x Radio Control Unit
  • 1,000x SAM Fluctuator

First, you’ll unlock the recipes for a Singularity Cell and a Ballistic Warp Drive, two of the toughest components in the entire game. You’ll need the Warp Drive for Space Elevator Phase 5, and it currently has the longest production chain in Satisfactory.

You’ll also unlock Portals here, which require Singularity Cells. There’s an Entrance Portal and an Exit Portal, letting you teleport across the entire map. To keep a persistent link, you must feed cells. One cell lasts only 30 seconds, and it consumes a lot of power. With this you can connect far‑flung factories and move around the map much faster.

Conveyor Belts Mk. 6 and Ficsonium: Peak efficiency in Satisfactory

Conveyor Belts Mk. 6 in Satisfactory with 1,200 items per minute and Ficsonium

Finally, as is tradition in Satisfactory, you can boost your efficiency with new conveyor belts and a new form of nuclear power to close out your journey through the milestones. The requirements aren’t too extreme, but you’ll need to produce a lot of aluminum sheets and iron plates.

Complete with:

  • 250x Time Crystal
  • 250x FICSIT Trigon
  • 5,000x Alclad Aluminum Sheet
  • 10,000x Iron Plate

First, you’ll unlock Conveyor Belts Mk. 6. They glow, making them stand out much more than previous versions. Each segment requires one FICSIT Trigon and one Time Crystal to craft. They’re 20× as effective as Mk. 1 belts and can move up to 1,200 items per minute. You can run at 84 km/h on foot and up to 135 km/h with Blade Runners on them. You can also recolor their white glow for a nice visual contrast.

Lastly, you’ll unlock Ficsonium, a third nuclear option and a way to process all your nuclear waste. We already have an in‑depth guide on how to use nuclear power efficiently (Satisfactory Nuclear Power Guide: Reactors, Fuel Rods & 0% Waste) .

Conclusion: Successfully finishing Tier 9 in Satisfactory

With Tier 9, you’ve reached all milestones and obtained almost all important machines, recipes, and items. For some, that means the game is “finished”; for others, the real fun begins as you expand your own factory empire. Either way, Tier 9 brings many complex systems, from processing dark matter to quantum physics. But it also makes your work easier with Portals, Blueprints, and Mk. 6 conveyor belts.

If you want to play Satisfactory from start to finish and reach Tier 9, rent your own Satisfactory server with us and start your adventure. There’s a lot to experience along the way, and you can be proud of yourself for completing all milestones. But one big challenge still awaits you: Space Elevator Phase 5.
