Hytale already offers many hours of fun, but once you’re fully geared in Adamantite, things can start to feel a bit repetitive. New updates do arrive regularly, though they haven’t fundamentally changed the game yet. Still, it’s rewarding to push the limits of Hytale’s current late game and squeeze everything you can out of it. There are challenges that are genuinely tough and will also prepare you for larger updates down the road. Your creativity matters too, since you can use the wide variety of building blocks to expand your base.

1. Upgrading workbenches in Hytale: all tiers and tips

Hytale’s core progression system revolves around workbenches. Whether this system will remain the same by full release is unclear, as it was planned and implemented relatively quickly. Even so, it gives you a clear path to follow and helps you learn every major aspect of the game.

To unlock Adamantite, you’ll need to upgrade several workbenches, though not all of them. Some branches aren’t required for your gear but are still worth exploring. The Alchemist’s Workbench recently received a major update, and its tiers are now significantly harder to reach—a great challenge. The Farmer’s Workbench can also keep you busy for hours as you sow new crops, harvest, and work through upgrades.

2. Hytale weapons in the late game: sword, axe, magic, and more

While exploring Orbis, you probably focused on the sword or daggers, but Hytale has more to offer. In the same workbench, you can craft hefty maces and axes, each with their own movesets and use cases.

A bow or crossbow can also be very helpful in combat. Some enemies even drop spears. And there are more weapons you might not notice at first glance, such as the ice and fire staves found at the Arcanist’s Workbench. They’re solid ranged options and showcase what Hytale can do. There’s also a rare skeleton drop, the Grimoire: Rekindle Embers, which lets you summon skeletal warriors. In the creative menu, you’ll find a whole batch of additional weapons that aren’t fully implemented yet—offering a preview of what may be coming.

3. Taming and capturing animals in Hytale: every type for your base

Hytale certainly doesn’t lack wildlife. Each zone has its own conditions that support a wide variety of animals. But what if you could bring them home? Thanks to the new taming system, you can. We’ve already covered the details in a dedicated post if you want to learn more (Hytale animal taming: livestock, feed, and products) .

A great late-game project is to find every animal and house them in your base. Some can provide resources, though you can’t breed them yet. If that feature expands later, you’ll be well prepared.

4. Collecting Hytale memories: locations, rewards, and tips

Another way to truly see everything is by collecting memories. With over 200 in total, you’ll be busy for quite a while—and some creatures are genuinely hard to find. You can also unlock great rewards with them; learn more in our separate article (Find Hytale Memories: Locations, Tips, and Rewards) .

Not all memories are collectible just yet, but you can still do your best to find as many as possible. And who knows what else you might discover on your travels.

5. Building the perfect Hytale base: materials, decor, and functionality

In Hytale, your creativity and motivation play a big role. You can choose from hundreds of blocks to craft a place that’s truly your own. In the late game, your base doesn’t have to be just functional—you can also spruce it up and expand it.

Hytale offers no shortage of resources and different materials. You’ll find new blocks everywhere, hopefully sparking fresh ideas. The selection of wood types alone is large, with dozens of stone blocks and many other materials to complement them.

6. Ancient Gateway and dimensions: portals, fragments, and rare resources

At the Arcanist’s Workbench, once you’ve collected a certain number of memories, you can craft an Ancient Gateway. Many players overlook this feature, but it offers a glimpse into new worlds and potential future updates for Hytale.

Alongside the Ancient Gateway, you’ll need fragments to teleport to other dimensions. Currently there are three variations, each giving you a time limit to explore. You’ll find not only rare resources there but also structures and completely different world generation. Each fragment presents a new challenge.

7. Explore all zones and biomes: find rare structures

Finally, you can always set out to explore Hytale’s vast world. Our Deep Dives into all current zones are a handy companion. We’ve held back some secrets for you to uncover on your own. Some structures spawn very rarely, and outside the main island, biomes blend together for added variety. You might even stumble upon things few other players have seen.

Conclusion: Hytale late-game goals and what’s next

Hytale is already a substantial game, and you can see many systems that will be expanded and refined in future updates. The game is still in an early stage of development, and the community can actively shape it. With collecting memories, upgrading every workbench, or gathering every animal, you can already get a lot out of the game. And major updates likely aren’t far off.

Of course, you can also play Hytale with friends—and that’s best done on one of our Hytale servers, which you can rent right here. Rent a Hytale server now. That way, the game is even more fun, and you can explore every corner together.
