Frequently asked questions about the Satisfactory server
Mods are currently only available for the single player/co-op.
You can simply upload your savegame ingame when you are connected to the server and load it afterwards.
When it comes to playing online games, you can’t get around a game server. This also applies to Satisfactory. Here you have the option of creating your own server or renting a server. As a rule, the rental option is the better solution, as you get away cheaper overall.
You don’t have to make any large one-off outlays, but can play on your own Satisfactory server for a small monthly amount. In addition, you don’t have to deal with annoying maintenance costs and can rely on a first-class support service with 4Netplayers as your hosting partner.
That is entirely up to you. When you rent a server from 4Netplayers, you can decide on the length of your rental contract right from the start. You just want to try out Satisfactory? Then rent a server for one month, during which you can discover the played planet. You are already sure that you want to build factories in Satisfactory over a longer period of time? In that case, you can sign a contract with a length of up to 12 months. You can even save up to 10%.
You do not necessarily have to rent a dedicated Satisfactory server. Alternatively, you can also choose a shared server. However, the dedicated variant has some advantages:
- Your server is always accessible under the same IP address. This makes it easier to give your friends access.
- Even if several slots are occupied, you enjoy short loading times.
- The total capacity of the server with us as hoster is freely available to you.
At 4Netplayers, you can not only choose between dedicated and shared servers. We also offer different server models for your contract:
- a Starter server, which is available for as little as €4.99 per month and has 10 slots
- the Professional Server is free of branding and allows access for up to 16 players
- a model for own configuration, which is offered including TeamSpeak
The starter server is suitable for testing the game. The configurable model is ideal for true fans. The professional model is the perfect intermediate.
At 4Netplayers, you don’t have to wait long to start enjoying the game. Once you have signed the contract to rent your Satisfactory server, you can start right into the game and begin exploring the planet, building factories and extracting resources.
Rent a Satisfactory server: Your factory keeps running even when you're offline
Satisfactory is factory-building from a first-person perspective: you land on an alien planet, gather resources, lay conveyor belts, build power grids, explore biomes, and defend your production against local creatures. In multiplayer, it becomes a project that quickly outgrows any solo factory. If you rent a Satisfactory server, you get a persistent shared world that isn’t tied to a teammate’s PC.
A dedicated Satisfactory server makes the difference between a spontaneous session and a long-term build. No one has to wait for the host to come online, and no one loses progress just because someone ends the session. Instead of public lobbies or rotating hosts, you use a Satisfactory game server where planning, production, and expansion can continue smoothly at any time. Especially with multi-story factories, long supply chains, and large teams, this reliability pays off quickly.
Play together without waiting for the host
On a Satisfactory multiplayer server, your group no longer plays on the host’s schedule. The server is online around the clock, so someone can set up new ore lines in the morning while others expand power or plan rail routes in the evening. Out of individual build nights, a shared world emerges where tasks stay visible and progress doesn’t vanish into private save files.
That makes playing together far more relaxed. One person optimizes recipes, another builds Hypertubes, someone handles fluids, and yet all the work still fits together. For groups of friends and growing communities, your own Satisfactory server is where co-op becomes a long-term project. You’re no longer just meeting to play—you’re continuing to run a factory that belongs to everyone. This keeps motivation high even when not everyone is online at the same time.
Stable performance for large factories
As soon as conveyor belts, truck routes, trains, and multi-story production chains grow, you notice the difference between a makeshift connection and proper hosting. Large factories benefit from stable performance, low ping, and a dedicated server that isn’t also taxing the host’s personal machine. A good server for Satisfactory gives your planning the technical foundation it deserves.
With Satisfactory hosting, location, security, and resources also matter. Reliable hardware keeps the game server resilient, worldwide locations help you choose the best ping, and DDoS protection wards off disruptive attacks. With the right number of slots, the server stays predictable: enough room for your crew without wasting performance. That keeps multiplayer smooth even when your factory is anything but small. That saves headaches, especially during long sessions and major build phases.
Your own rules, admin rights, and easy management
Your own Satisfactory dedicated server gives you control over what happens in your world. You can configure the server, set your own options, adjust slots, and use admin rights to ensure your rules are followed. That’s especially helpful when not everyone should have access to everything or when a community needs clear procedures.
Good hosting also takes a lot of technical work off your hands. Backups protect your factory from bad decisions, crashes, or corrupted save files, automatic updates keep the server current, and a clear server panel saves time. Instead of moving files by hand or checking ports, you focus on the blueprint. The game server runs in the background while you build new lines, stations, and production chains up front, without the team having to pause for tech every time.
Organize mods, events, and community projects cleanly
If you want more than vanilla, your own server also becomes interesting for mods and tweaks. Depending on the setup, modpacks, quality-of-life features, or special build ideas can be organized cleanly without every player experimenting on their own. Controlled Satisfactory hosting helps align versions and roll out changes intentionally so the factory doesn’t grind to a halt after every update.
The server can also become a hub for clans, Discord groups, and smaller events. PvP isn’t the core of Satisfactory, but with your own rules, mods, or team competitions, compelling comparisons emerge: who delivers to the Space Elevator first, who builds more efficiently, who keeps energy consumption under control? On your own game server, such challenges run more fairly because everyone plays under the same conditions and progress remains transparent and traceable for all.
Start right away: your own world, your own rules
Renting a Satisfactory server means not leaving your project to chance. You get your own world, your own rules, and a server that stays online at all times. Your group can build, test, refine, and scrap again without relying on a local host or shifting public lobbies. That’s exactly what makes multiplayer feel less like scheduling and more like genuine collaboration.
The best time is when your first ideas outgrow a single session. Spin up your own Satisfactory server, invite your crew, and get started right away: lay conveyors, stabilize power, link outposts, and expand the factory step by step. With good hosting, the technical side stays quietly in the background while you play together and keep optimizing your production.
