Hytale Creative Mode: Exclusive Features, Ores, Weapons, and Items

Hytale Creative Mode: Exclusive Features, Ores, Weapons, and Items

Hytale is still in Early Access, so it’s no surprise that some features are still under development. Some aren’t implemented at all yet, while others can already be discovered in the game’s Creative Mode. A peek into the creative inventory shows there’s a lot waiting in the wings. Whether these are just concepts or features that will actually make it into the game remains to be seen. Today, we’ll take a closer look at several of them and speculate about what they might bring.

Hytale Creative Mode: Upcoming Metals and New Ores

Hytale upcoming ores and metals in Creative Mode

The progression of ores is already an important part of Hytale. Early on you only have Copper and Iron, but later you can craft tools from blood-red Adamantite. In the forge, you’ve probably also noticed another ore that you currently can’t find in the world. Mithril is a white ore, even lighter than silver, and will likely be the next upgrade.

Two other ores you won’t find anywhere in Exploration Mode—not even in the forge—are Onyxium and Prism. Both are available in the Creative Menu. For Onyxium, you can already find all armor pieces and tools, plus several weapons. For Prism, there’s currently only armor, along with some scraps and fabrics. More on that in a moment.

Beyond these ores, there’s another metal you can spot in the inventory. Bronze is a copper-tin alloy in the real world, so it makes sense that there’s no direct ore for it in Hytale. Still, you can find ingots, armor, and even weapons made from bronze. Who knows—maybe we’ll be able to combine ores later to create new materials.

Hytale Creative Mode: Fabrics, Linen, and Leather

You can also find a whole array of fabric scraps in the menu, all in different stages of processing. The game already includes leather and some scraps, but by no means all of them. The previously mentioned Prism metal seems related here, as there are several Prismaloom fabrics to discover.

You’ll also find Silk and Stormsilk. In fact, Stormsilk appears as a material at some workbenches, but you can’t obtain it directly in Exploration Mode yet. As it stands, this will likely tie in with the Mithril upgrade later.

In addition, there are four new types of fur, and therefore leather: Dark, Prismatic, Scaled, and Storm. Which creatures they come from is still unknown.

Hytale Weapons in Creative Mode: New Weapon Types and Upgrades

Weapons are probably the largest category in the creative inventory. You’ll find dozens of weapon types that aren’t in the game yet, offering a glimpse of where development might be headed. There are also new upgrades for existing weapon types that will likely be added sooner or later, including upgrades to Mithril and Onyxium, plus other variants.

  • Flamethrower: Introduced as a concept, the flamethrower will likely be able to set many things ablaze later on.
  • Firearms: It appears you may eventually have firearms in Hytale. You can currently find a few variants, including a rifle, a pistol, and a musket. Unusual for the setting, and possibly added just for fun at first.
  • Longswords: It’s surprising these aren’t in Exploration Mode yet, as they’d make solid weapons. You can already find a substantial number of well-developed designs, including some very interesting variants.
  • Staves: In addition to the Flame and Ice Crystal Staff, more staves will likely be added—which isn’t surprising.
  • Summoning books: There’s currently only one summoning book in Exploration Mode, but more are likely planned.

Hytale Workbenches and Crafting: New Possibilities

Whether the workbench system will remain as-is is still up in the air. It seems to work well so far, which is why there are already more of them as concepts. While you can only find one of them in Creative Mode, two additional ones have surfaced in the Asset Editor.

  • Trough: You’ll likely be able to place food for tamed animals here so they can eat. You can already interact with it, but can’t put anything inside yet.
  • Loom: The loom isn’t available yet, but will probably be used later to process the fabrics we mentioned.
  • Forge: Possibly a future system for upgrading or improving weapons.

Hytale Vehicles and Ancient Gateway

Hytale vehicles and Ancient Gateway fragments

One of the most anticipated aspects of Hytale is more vehicles. You can already find boats, but you can’t do anything with them yet—and you also can’t craft them. They don’t float yet either, which will surely be added sooner or later. You can also find a glider in the menu; it already works, but doesn’t have an animation.

Finally, there are two more fragments for the Ancient Gateway, which lets you travel to other worlds. These are fully implemented, but you can’t craft the fragments. One crystal takes you to a world covered in ash, while the other leads to icy landscapes with strange rock formations. It’s quite possible more of these fragments will follow.

Conclusion: Hytale Creative Mode as a Preview of Future Updates

A look at the Creative Mode inventory shows that Hytale still has plenty up its sleeve. Many features are probably not yet finalized and will be added later. Others may never make it into the other modes and might have been concepts that were explored at some point. Either way, all of this points to future updates.

If you don’t want to miss any of these updates, rent one of our Hytale servers and play together with your friends. Of course, you can also play in Creative Mode and start testing these features there right now.
