Hytale is currently great for exploring its vast world and getting to know the different zones. You won’t just find new animals, ores, and resources—there are also a variety of procedurally generated structures. These are especially worth the trip and often contain valuable items you might not stumble upon otherwise. Some are much larger than they first appear. From cities with a mix of friendly and hostile inhabitants to deep dungeons and abandoned ports, Hytale offers plenty of structures to discover.

Hytale Zone 1 Guide: Best Structures, Dungeons, and Loot

Hytale Zone 1 structures: Kweebec village, crypt, and mineshaft

Everything still feels peaceful here, with green meadows and forests. But that’s deceptive—there are already dark secrets to uncover if you go looking. Of course, the Forgotten Temple is one of the key structures, but there’s more to find beyond that!

  • Kweebec Village: Kweebecs are adorable locals who settle around massive trees, and you can also encounter them in the world of the Forgotten Temple. They’ll wave at you, and some will even trade with you. These villages are great because you can gather crops like carrots or cabbage and take along animals like chickens.
  • Cursed Crypt: If you see an ominous circle on the map, it’s bound to draw your attention. It marks a graveyard—but there’s a big secret! The crypt descends deep underground, with winding sections, jumping puzzles, and plenty of skeletons. At the very bottom, a boss fight awaits, and along the way you’ll find many chests and riches.
  • Mineshaft: These houses look unassuming from the outside, but a look below tells a different story. Mines plunge extremely deep and even contain many ores you’d rarely—or never—find in Zone 1! Mines and dig sites appear in every other zone as well, with similarly sprawling tunnels.

Hytale Zone 2 Desert: Temples, Labyrinths, and Rare Loot

Hytale Zone 2 desert: labyrinth, temple ruins, and Scarak nests

The vast desert is full of surprises and is not for the faint of heart. Sandstorms rage here, making navigation tougher. But once you get your bearings, Zone 2 reveals many hidden structures packed with treasure.

  • Scarak Nests: These are part of the landscape—and possibly the most annoying areas in the entire game. Watch out for flying and crawling insects that also poison you. Still, you can gather plenty of chitin and venom sacs for crafting.
  • Labyrinth: Hytale has its own take on a desert temple, recognizable from afar. It also descends deep below the sands, with loads of treasure chests and rare items. Beware of scorpions—they’re poisonous too.
  • Temple Ruins: You’ll also find temple ruins that are now home to skeletons. Expect nasty archers and even mages, which makes an assault anything but simple. Move carefully to secure all the loot and clear out the enemies.

Hytale Zone 3 Snow: Icebergs, Outlander Outposts, and Ports

Hytale Zone 3 snow: iceberg camps, Outlander outposts, and port

The frozen Zone 3 features different structures with new enemies and varied architecture. Some are even abandoned, letting you explore at your own pace. That’s what makes Zone 3’s structures unique—though danger still lurks in places.

  • Iceberg Camps: Among the abandoned sites are camps built into the surrounding icebergs of Zone 3. They look menacing but are completely deserted. That makes them exciting to explore, with plenty of chests and crates to find—and no one to contest them.
  • Outlander Outposts: Far more dangerous are the Outlanders, Zone 3’s exclusive enemies. They’ve built several structures, but their villages, outposts, and ritual sites are particularly nasty. They’re easy to spot on the map and look threatening from afar. Fights are tough, but the rewards are worth it.
  • Abandoned Port: Less nerve‑wracking are the port areas found at the zone’s edges. You’ll discover piers with houses and Viking ships, filled with chests and curiosities. Not as extensive as other structures, but still worth a visit.

Hytale Zone 4 Devastated Lands: Volcanoes, Skeleton Villages, and Loot

Hytale Zone 4 Devastated Lands: volcanoes and skeleton villages

You should only venture into the Devastated Lands later, once you have better gear. The area swarms with enemies and treacherous terrain. You’ll still find structures here, though life is scarce. Undead thrive in this lava‑scarred region.

  • Burned Village: Not every settlement survives in a harsh region like Zone 4. You’ll come across plenty of abandoned, burned‑out villages—perfect for looting.
  • Volcano: Volcanoes are common across Zone 4’s islands, and they’re worth a closer look. Some calderas hide real treasures, though they’re extremely hard to reach. Be careful, avoid lava, descend to the bottom, and grab all that gold.
  • Skeleton Village: These resemble the burned villages but aren’t abandoned—they’re inhabited by skeletons. Their houses are larger and better built, with more loot and several secrets. Expect basements with chests—and vicious mages who can kill you quickly. Proceed with caution.

Conclusion: Explore Hytale with the best structures in each zone

Exploring Orbis is currently one of Hytale’s highlights—and this is only the initial version of world generation. Every region offers distinct, varied structures just waiting to be explored and plundered. Some dungeons can keep you busy for well over an hour, with secret passages, branches, and even a few bosses.
