Even though your blueprint guide is already quite useful, both in free build mode and with templates, there are a few hidden recipes you’ll need to discover first. Some are just fun additions or upgrades to what you already have, while others are genuinely important. These recipes are definitely useful for the mid- and late-game and you shouldn’t miss them! We’ll take a closer look at all locations and how to use them.
Tip: Many traps require electricity. Plan power sources (generators, Solafite) as well as wiring so your defence runs reliably.
Sons of the Forest West Side: Blueprint Locations & Tips

1. Blueprint Charged Cross – Location and use
Location: In the northern beach cave, next to the artefact (always take the right path at forks).
Use: Works like a large cross which, when powered, can repel weak cannibals and demons. It shines at them and is perfect for defending your base! You can also use it to find your way back home.
2. Blueprint Glider Launcher – Location and use
Location: In a small cave upstream of the Entertainment bunker.
Use: Functions like a trampoline to launch you straight up so you can deploy your glider. Perfect for getting a view over the island.
3. Blueprint Solafite Generator – Location and use
Location: In a cave on the south-western coast surrounded by chain-link fences. You’ll find the blueprint among skulls.
Use: Slowly produces Solafite so you don’t have to mine it laboriously with the pickaxe in caves. Perfect for the late-game and upgrading your armour. Also used for the artefact that enables teleportation.
4. Blueprint Multi‑Trap – Location and use
Location: In a small cave in the south-west corner of the island, a little south of the long lake. Use the blue and orange markers on your map to orient yourself; the cave lies between them.
Use: A trap to protect your camp from attackers. As the name suggests, it can take out several enemies at once. It delivers electric shocks, burns foes and deals additional damage. Very handy for repelling larger raids (but also very expensive to craft).
5. Blueprint Teleporter – Location and use
Location: Not far from the previous spot, in the south-west of the map near a larger camp (where you can also find the night-vision goggles). Look for the small cave.
Use: Used together with the artefact to teleport across the map. Only use after finishing the story.
Sons of the Forest Mountains: Ice Cave Blueprint Locations

6. Blueprint Spear Thrower – Location and use
Location: Head to the south of the large mountain and look for the entrance to an ice cave. You’ll find the blueprint on a skeleton impaled by a spear.
Use: Another trap for base defence. You should absolutely build it, as it’s one of the best traps in the game. Requires power.
7. Blueprint Gore Sofa – Location and use
Location: In a wooden hut at the southern end of the lake in the middle of the island’s mountain range. Also found at a skeleton.
Use: A decidedly grotesque piece of furniture you can craft from cannibal skin and body parts. It certainly stands out, that’s for sure!
8. Blueprint Clock – Location and use
Location: Follow the river from the north-east of the map towards the centre of the mountain. As the river flows into the lake, look for an ice cave. Climb down the ropes and pick up the blueprint next to a skeleton.
Use: A large wall clock that shows the current in-game time. The hands are made from cannibal arms for an extra dash of horror.
Sons of the Forest North-East Coast: Top Traps & Upgrades

9. Blueprint Crusher Trap – Location and use
Location: Found in a cave on the north-eastern coast near a fishing village. The entrance is inside one of the huts. Go left at the fork and the blueprint is hidden behind a waterfall.
Use: Also one of the best traps in the game, as it crushes your enemies. It’s powered by a motor and effectively draws natives in to kill them.
10. Blueprint Spinner Trap – Location and use
Location: In an abandoned camp not far from the previous spot. Head a bit further south inland and you should find more wooden huts.
Use: A trap that extends arms and can kill many enemies at once. It’s incredibly effective and lands headshots on pretty much any attacker assaulting your base.
11. Blueprint Item Plating – Location and use
Location: Go further south-west, just above the small round pond. There’s a cave where you can find this blueprint. The same cave where you find the pickaxe and Solafite.
Use: Used in the late-game after the story to upgrade your gear and items with Solafite.
12. Blueprint Armour Upgrade (Ancient Armor) – Location and use
Location: Go to the luxury bunker and find the golden door at the end. Next to it is a skeleton with the blueprint.
Use: Required for the story. Upgrade the Ancient Armor with Solafite to pass through the golden door.
Sons of the Forest South-East Coast: Light, Defence & Decor

13. Blueprint Leg Lamp – Location and use
Location: Right on the southern bank of the river that leads inland. Marked by a red flare and the blue question mark on your map. Enter the mines there and find the blueprint at the end.
Use: A decorative lamp made from a cannibal leg and deer hide.
14. Blueprint Bone Tower Defence – Location and use
Location: In a cave far to the south-east of the island. The spot is marked on the GPS map with an orange symbol.
Use: A tower made of skulls and bones that you can activate with the artefact. Great for deterring nearby enemies. You should definitely build this in your base!
15. Blueprint Floodlight – Location and use
Location: A little south of the previous site, also found in a small cave. Marked by the blue question mark on the map and a red smoke plume on the surface.
Use: A very bright and effective light for a base. Also requires electricity.
16. Blueprint Gore Chair – Location and use
Location: In a beach camp on the south-eastern edge of the island. Found in one of the wooden huts, identifiable by the two armchairs outside.
Use: Another grotesque decorative piece for your base. Crafted from the remains of natives and a perfect match for the Gore Sofa from number seven on this list.
