Hytale Furniture & Builder's Workbench: Furniture, Blocks, Lighting

Hytale Furniture & Builder's Workbench: Furniture, Blocks, Lighting

In Hytale, you can not only head out on adventures but also build your dream home and settle down in a beautiful location. Your home isn’t just a base and workshop — it’s also an expression of your creativity. Hytale already offers plenty of exciting ways to make your house look great and feel cosy. That’s where the Furniture Workbench and the Builder’s Workbench come in. Together, they give you almost endless options to add detail to your builds. Today we’ll take a closer look at both, so you can discover brilliant decorations and new block variants!

Hytale Builder’s Workbench guide: Convert blocks into variants and crafting recipes

The Builder’s Workbench is straightforward to grasp, but the more blocks you find in the game, the more complex it becomes. To craft it, you’ll need 6x logs and 3x stone at the standard workbench. After that, you can dive into the variety of Hytale’s blocks! There isn’t an upgrade for this workbench yet.

Take Oak Wood as an example. In the Builder’s Workbench you can turn it into many different things. You can craft regular planks, as well as stairs and slabs that will look familiar if you’ve played Minecraft. It goes further still: from wood you can also make roof tiles, ladders and fences, plus trapdoors and doors. There are even furniture options such as cabinets, shelves, and tables. In short, the Builder’s Workbench is incredibly versatile.

If you hover your mouse over the Input, all the blocks in your inventory that can be converted at the workbench will be highlighted — and there are a lot of them. With future updates, expect many more options to appear here. We recommend testing every block you find at least once to see what else you can craft from it.

Hytale Furniture Workbench guide: Craft furniture and decorations

Hytale Furniture Workbench with furniture tabs

The Furniture Workbench offers eight different tabs with a range of furniture and decorations you can place in your world. This includes chests, lighting, and seasonal decor. You’ll find loads of great items that fit perfectly into your builds. There isn’t an upgrade for this bench yet either, but it’s likely more will be added in future updates — so keep your eyes peeled.

Crafting chests in Hytale: Storage and inventory management

Hytale crafting different chests for storage

The first section covers chests you can craft. Unlike Minecraft, which has just one main variant, Hytale lets you craft a whole range of different chests. Most of these unlock gradually as you collect Memories and turn them in at the Forgotten Temple (Hytale Memories: Where to Find Them, Tips and Rewards) . Some crafting resources also aren’t easy to come by. Different chests are handy for sorting your items and keeping everything tidy.

Crafting beds in Hytale: Respawn and sleep

The second tab lets you craft various beds that allow you to skip nights and set your spawn point. Generally, beds differ only visually — there are no direct gameplay advantages to building a “better” bed. But for decorative purposes, choosing a different bed can really elevate your build.

Light sources in Hytale: Craft lamps, lanterns and lighting

Hytale lamps and lanterns as light sources

The lighting section is particularly exciting, offering a wide selection of lamps, lights, and lanterns. Some of them can also be found in the world and taken with you, saving you from crafting them yourself. The right light sources are essential to set the mood in your home.

Most of them require a candle to craft. For candles, which you’ll also find here, you’ll need tree sap and a copper ingot. Otherwise, recipes vary a lot, and some require hard-to-find materials such as bamboo, thorium, or bones. Other lamps are built from the materials in the next section.

Ceramics, textiles and wood walls: Colourful building blocks in Hytale

Hytale colourful ceramics, textiles and wood-accent walls
  • Ceramics: Here you can produce clay from red sandstone. You’ll find sandstone in Zone 2, specifically in the Golden Steppes, with large amounts underground. Using the clay you obtain and different petals, you can craft clay in a range of colours. Clay features in many crafting recipes.

  • Textiles/Wool: Much like clay, you can use petals here to dye wool. You obtain wool by keeping sheep and shearing them with scissors.

  • Wood walls: Using the clay you made previously and hardwood, you can craft coloured walls with wood accents that are fantastic for building.

Decorations in Hytale: Books, bones and plushies

The penultimate tab currently features many different decorative items you can craft. These include stacks of books, various bones, a cute Kweebec plush toy, and even the Woodcutter Block. These items add the finishing touches to your world and bring it to life — and there’s likely much more to come.

Seasonal decor in Hytale: Halloween and Christmas

If you prefer a festive look, the final section of the Furniture Workbench is perfect for you. You’ll mainly find decor for Halloween and Christmas that instantly makes your builds feel more special. There are pumpkin lanterns, snowmen, fairy lights, and even presents you can use as chests. And who knows — perhaps more items will arrive for Easter or other celebrations.

Conclusion: Hytale furniture, lighting and building blocks for a feel-good home

Hytale already offers plenty of blocks and items to furnish and decorate your new home. The Builder’s Workbench and the Furniture Workbench are your best friends for discovering every block and variant. The Builder’s Workbench unlocks even more options for existing blocks, while the Furniture Workbench provides lighting, colourful building blocks, and seasonal decorations.

You can explore all these possibilities best on your own Hytale server, which you can, of course, rent from us. Play with friends and always be ready when a new update lands — perhaps with even more decorations.
