Enshrouded Wake of the Water: 8 Tips, Tricks & Secrets

Enshrouded Wake of the Water: 8 Tips, Tricks & Secrets

The new “Wake of the Water” update adds not only an entirely new region but also a host of fresh mechanics, items, and blocks. Enshrouded is now even deeper, with plenty of secrets you might not have discovered yet. Today, we are taking a closer look at exactly those — features you really should not miss. Explore the dense jungle and ancient ruins of Veilwater Basin, or progress far enough in quests to unlock many new possibilities.

1. Enshrouded Wake of the Water: Brewing coffee and recipes

Brewing coffee in Enshrouded Wake of the Water with recipes and a mill

Many cannot live without coffee, and now this delicious hot drink has arrived in Enshrouded. Head to Stillwater Bay to find both the Coffee Brewery and the Drum Roaster. Make your way to one of the tall towers and break through the roof. You will find both machines directly beneath it.

You can find three recipes in Stillwater Bay:

  • Black Coffee: Stamina + Melee
  • Latte: Stamina + Magic
  • Sweet Mocha: Stamina + Ranged

You will find coffee beans all over Veilwater Basin, and you can cultivate them like all other crops. More on harvesting in this article: (Enshrouded farming guide: growing crops, soils & Update 7) . Roast the beans and grind them in the Mill to coffee grounds. From there, you can brew delicious coffee.

2. Underwater in Enshrouded: Find and use swim fins

Swim fins for underwater adventures in Enshrouded Wake of the Water

You can now explore underwater areas in Enshrouded and discover rare treasures and items. Without the right gear, though, you will not get far. First on your list should be swim fins, which let you move more efficiently underwater and make you much more agile. You will also have more stamina, which is very handy.

You will receive the recipe sooner or later through a quest from the Angler, but you can look for the fins beforehand. Go to Goldrock Settle and venture deep into the ruins until you reach the Shroud. There you will find a grate, behind which is the chest containing the swim fins.

3. Enshrouded farming: Find and properly grow rice

Rice is another new crop you can grow in Enshrouded. It works a little differently from most other plants, as it must be constantly submerged. You will find rice plants in Orville and can then multiply the seeds back at your base.

We recommend building a sort of terrace for rice and letting the water flow from one level to the next. It not only looks great but is also very practical. You can cook harvested rice and use it in recipes like sushi, curry, or fried rice.

4. Enshrouded fishing: Find the Lucky Fishing Rod early

Fishing is likely one of the best new pastimes in Enshrouded. Read more in the guide: (Enshrouded Fishing Guide: Bait, Rods, Fish & Locations) . Not only can you catch fish and turn them into tasty meals, but you can also pull rare treasures from the water. You will need the right rod for that, which usually takes a while to obtain.

Enter the Lucky Fishing Rod, which you can find early and use for your angling adventures. You will find it in the suspicious Drak’dal ruins. The treasure is marked with a large red X on the ground between the ruins and is hard to miss. Dig there to find the rod in a chest. Later, you can also craft it yourself once you have completed enough quests from the Angler.

5. Enshrouded Mill and water wheel: Use them properly

Mill with water wheel in Enshrouded for coffee grounds and bone meal

We covered coffee in the first tip, and the Mill is a key tool for that. It can do more, too — including turning bones into bone meal. You can unlock the Mill by completing the relevant quest for the Alchemist. After that, you will receive the millstone and the recipe.

The Mill needs external power to run. This is where the new water mechanics come in. You must use a water wheel to drive the millstone. Water flows from above and turns the wheel, which in turn powers the nearby mill.

6. Enshrouded diving: Find the Diving Helmet

For diving, you will want not only swim fins but also a Diving Helmet. It grants +60 oxygen and reduces the Wet status effect. Another advantage is that the Diving Helmet emits light, so it is useful in dark places as well.

You can find it in the Drak’dal Temple by looking for a large pile of gold located underwater. Search the body lying there and you will find the Diving Helmet. If you follow the Angler’s quests, you will come across it as well and receive a crafting recipe for it.

7. Enshrouded building: New and rare construction materials

Rare building materials in Enshrouded like Drak Temple blocks, bamboo, and limestone

Like several updates before it, Wake of the Water brings new building blocks. Some are easy to find, such as bamboo and limestone, while others are much trickier to obtain. For dedicated and creative builders, these are essential.

Find rare materials:

  • Drak Temple Block: Dive through Drak ruins to find the recipe.
  • Drak Temple Roof: In the same Drak Temple, hidden behind gold coins.
  • Red Carpet: In a cave next to one of the watchtowers in Stillwater Bay.
  • Shell‑limestone Roof: In a chest in the small village of Dewdrop Farm.

8. Enshrouded mining: Craft the Mining Helmet and mine faster

Crafting the Mining Helmet in Enshrouded for light and faster mining

Finally, let’s look at the Mining Helmet — a handy item you should definitely craft. It provides a light source similar to the Diving Helmet in tip 6 and grants extra buffs. You will have more stamina and can mine stone and metals faster.

To unlock the recipe at the Blacksmith, you must first have a Mill — see tip 5. There, use Gleam Roots to produce the corresponding dust. You will need this to craft the Mining Helmet. You will also require capybara bristles, steel bars, aquamarine, and glowing underwater plants.

Conclusion: Discover Enshrouded Wake of the Water

Of course, this is only a fraction of what you can discover in Wake of the Water. Its many new mechanics open up fresh approaches to crafting, cooking, and combat. With the help of NPCs and quests, you will uncover these on your own in due time.

Rent your own Enshrouded server from us and dive straight into the new update. Exploring with friends is even more fun. You can play with up to 16 people on a server together. Fight your way through the Drak ruins or go diving to find rare items.
