Thanks to the many options in Enshrouded, you can put together your own perfect combat style. As in many RPGs, the classic archer is naturally very popular. Keep your distance and try to pick off enemies from afar so you take no damage in return. The Ranger is extremely popular and also makes use of several other skills you might not consider at first! With a mix of damage types and elements, you’re practically untouchable and can wipe out large hordes of enemies in no time. Today we’re taking a closer look at the archer in Enshrouded!
Enshrouded Ranger build: overview and introduction
Even early on you can commit to the Ranger and work towards dispatching enemies from a safe distance. You can craft both a bow and arrows yourself to start your first forays into ranged combat. You can then improve both aspects over time as you find new bows as loot and rescue the Huntress.
General tips and pointers for your Enshrouded Ranger build:
- Compared to other playstyles you will have significantly less HP.
- You must stay quick and mobile to dodge attacks and strike back immediately.
- Stamina is therefore very important to remain nimble and to draw arrows.
- Mana is essential for elemental arrows.
- Rescue the Huntress as soon as possible to craft new and better arrows.
- Learn to aim better and always try to land headshots.
Enshrouded bows guide: bow types, stats and enchantments

As an archer your primary weapon is, of course, the bow! There are plenty in Enshrouded, both early and in the late game. They behave like other weapons but also have specific stats to watch. Choose your bow accordingly, as different bows suit different playstyles. There isn’t one bow that’s best for everyone.
- Power: All bows have a base damage which is then combined with the arrows’ damage.
- Draw speed: How quickly your bow draws. Longbows take 1 second, shortbows 0.6 seconds.
- Arrow speed: Additional velocity imparted to the arrow on release.
- Stamina cost: This value is hidden, but each bow consumes a different amount of stamina when drawing.
- Enchantments: Like other weapons, bows can be enchanted up to five times, granting extra perks and elemental damage.
- Jewel slot: Some bows also have a jewel slot. Gems with stamina regeneration are especially good; we also recommend an Aerial Acrobatics Jewel.
Enshrouded elemental arrows: arrows for maximum damage

Without the right arrows, even your best bow is worthless, so you’ll need to make a choice here. There’s a wide range of arrows you can craft at the Huntress. Rescue her first to expand your arsenal. Some recipes unlock automatically, others only at certain levels or with specific resources. Twigs are very important, and you’ll need a lot of them! The best place to gather is in caves, where you can mine twig nodes with a pickaxe.
As you progress, different arrows come into play. Keep checking with the Huntress for improved recipes.
- Gilded steel arrows are among the best arrows for later on.
- Later you should also use the Eternal Frost Arrow to deal ice damage and have infinite ammo. You obtain it via a quest line at level 9, and you can upgrade it later.
- Lastly, you can invest in explosive arrows, but they will cost significantly more resources.
Enshrouded Ranger skills: best talents and skill tree synergies

Like other classes, ranged combat is split into four branches in the skill tree. You don’t have to lock yourself in, and you can mix and match as you please! That’s especially handy for the Ranger, who can be very versatile and adaptable in Enshrouded, benefitting from branches focused on melee and even magic.
These branches are relevant:
- Survival: Improves HP, Mana and Stamina and enhances your food buffs.
- Ranger: Absolutely essential for any archer. More damage and range for all your attacks.
- Assassin: Focuses on critical and explosive damage with arrows.
- Tank: Can help shore up your defence, as you have low HP.
- Mage: Ice damage scales with arrows, plus you can gain more Mana.
Strive for a good balance across your core stats. Stamina and Mana in particular are key, as both are consumed quickly in combat. Some skills siphon these directly from enemies, giving you a steady buffer. Otherwise, stay agile and invest in critical damage.
Some of the best skills for the Ranger in Enshrouded are:
- Double Jump
- Dive
- Bee Sting
- Updraft
- Grenade Shock
- Eagle Eye
- Dessert Stomach
- Multishot (not always optimal, but can be handy)
Enshrouded gear for Rangers: light, mobile, and stamina-focused

Your gear should reflect these priorities, and you’ll find or craft suitable armour depending on class, region, and level. You can mix and match sets just like your skills! Most sets increase stamina and regeneration, boost bow damage, or even grant elemental advantages. You do not need a shield.
However, there are two other equipment pieces you should always carry:
- Food: Enshrouded relies on buffs granted by meals. Always keep enough snacks in your bags. We recommend chicken soup, curry, or a nice coffee.
- Rings: Tailor the two ring slots to your playstyle, but stamina and Mana rings are very practical for Rangers. A Frost Ring is also great if you’re leaning into ice damage.
Conclusion on the Enshrouded Ranger build: silently eliminate foes from afar
If you prefer to keep your distance and focus on precision shots, the archer in Enshrouded is likely the best class for you! You can leverage many other skills that make you all but untouchable. And with the right combination of bow and arrows, you’ll be prepared for any situation!
