Palworld features a huge variety of Pals, but some are far rarer than others. A few you’ll only stumble upon by luck, while others are practically hidden. If you’re not set on completing your Paldeck, you might miss out on some exciting monsters you won’t easily encounter in the wild. For this list, we left out Legendary and Alpha Pals—they’re rare too, but belong in their own category. We’re focusing on eight extremely rare Pals, showing where to find them, whether they can be bred, and how they’re actually useful.
Find Kitsun in Palworld: Location, Breeding, Utility

Location: Kitsun looks mystical—and it’s just as rare. You can only find it at night on Frostbound Mountain, and even then with a very low spawn chance. Expect to check back multiple times before one appears.
Breeding: Breeding is often easier. There are many combinations that can result in Kitsun. You can also hatch one from hot large eggs you find in the world.
Utility: Kitsun is versatile. Starting at level 30 you can use it as a mount, it provides Kindling Lv. 2, and it keeps you warm.
Elphidran Aqua in Palworld: Breeding, Mount, and Benefits

Location: Elphidran Aqua is one of the very few Pals with no direct spawns in the wild.
Breeding: The only way to obtain it is to breed a regular Elphidran with a Surfent.
Utility: At level 28 you can unlock its saddle and use it as a swimming mount. It’s fast and flexible—and its rarity makes it even more appealing. Learn more in our guide: (Palworld Swim Pals: Best Water Mounts for Early, Mid & Late Game) . In addition, Fire-type Pals drop more items when fighting alongside it, which is very practical.
Catch Pengullet Lux: Location, Breeding, and Base Utility

Location: Pengullet Lux is a variant of regular Pengullet, with Electric and Water typing. You can primarily obtain it by fishing at night. Head to the coast of the Desiccated Desert for the best odds.
Breeding: You can also hatch it by breeding a regular Pengullet with a Sparkit. There are no other valid combos.
Utility: In combat, you can use Pengullet Lux as a rocket launcher starting at level 39. It’s also great for your base thanks to Generating Electricity Lv. 2, a fairly rare work skill. It can additionally Water, Transport, and perform Handiwork.
Bastigor in Palworld: Breeding Path, Rarity, and Strengths

Location: Bastigor, the ice lion, does not appear in the wild. There’s no Alpha version either.
Breeding: You must breed it by crossing Anubis with Frostallion. That’s the only combination that yields Bastigor. Very rarely, it can hatch from a frozen giant egg found on Feybreak.
Utility: Bastigor is a very strong fighter, especially with its Hammer, which you unlock at level 59—making it more of a late-game Pal. It can also perform Mining and Lumbering at Lv. 3, and Cooling at Lv. 4.
Dumud Gild in Palworld: Location, Breeding, and Drops

Location: Dumud Gild is a golden variant of regular Dumud, which already makes it special. It only appears in the wild via fishing, and only in freshwater. This includes ponds in the northern desert, around Oasis Isle, and Eternal Summer Island. You can also obtain it from a fish pond at your base.
Breeding: Like most Pals on this list, there’s only one combo: regular Dumud with Eikthyrdeer Terra.
Utility: Dumud Gild boosts Ground-type Pal attacks in battle. It really shines at the Ranch, where it drops High-Quality Pal Oil and occasionally some Gold.
Fuack Ignis in Palworld: Location, Breeding, and Uses

Location: Fuack Ignis can only be found by fishing. This red duck is rarer than most and prefers volcanic regions and freshwater ponds. Your best bet is the water around Mount Obsidian near Dry Sandy Beach.
Breeding: Its unique combo is regular Fuack with Flambelle.
Utility: Fuack Ignis isn’t a top worker, but it can handle many Lv. 1 tasks: Kindling, Watering, Handiwork, and Transporting. In combat, it can slam foes with Flame Surfing.
Suzaku Aqua in Palworld: Breeding, Flying Mount, and Water Bonus

Location: You won’t find Suzaku Aqua in the wild, as it doesn’t spawn there. It can occasionally appear in raids.
Breeding: Find a regular Suzaku and breed it with Jormuntide to obtain Suzaku Aqua. It also has a chance to hatch from damp giant eggs found in the world.
Utility: With its saddle at level 43, Suzaku Aqua becomes a flying mount. It also boosts Water attacks, offering strong combat support.
Turtacle Terra in Palworld: Fishing, Breeding, and Partner Skill

Location: Like a few other rare Pals, Turtacle Terra can only be fished up. You’ll find it only along the coasts of the Desiccated Desert, Eternal Summer Island, and Oasis Isle.
Breeding: Regular Turtacle plus Digtoise will let you breed your own Turtacle Terra at your base.
Utility: Its partner skill lets it carry your armor, which reduces your weight. In combat, it boosts Ground-type attacks. It’s not particularly useful at base work, but it can Water, Transport, and Mine.
