In Palworld, not only your Pals can fight—so can you. You have access to a wide range of weapons to battle and defeat other Pals. That matters, because your Pals can’t always go it alone. Pals themselves can’t wield these weapons, but they can equip their own gear. Here, we focus only on player weapons and take a closer look at which six melee and which six ranged weapons are currently the best in Palworld.
Palworld Melee: The best melee weapons with damage and crafting

Palworld Terra Blade: Location, crafting, and damage
- Unlock: Schematic found in the “Sealed Realm of Terraria”
- Crafting: Hallowed Bar + Predator Core + Pal Metal Ingot
- Damage: 425 to 637
A green sword originally from Terraria. It can launch shockwaves when used, letting you hit enemies from a distance. While you can craft the normal blade at a workbench, every other version requires a blueprint you’ll find in the corresponding dungeon. A major advantage of this weapon is its high durability compared to other melee options.
Palworld Meowmere: Mid-game weapon with explosive projectiles
- Unlock: Level 30 with 2 Ancient Technology Points
- Crafting: Ingot + Paldium Fragment + Coal + Predator Core
- Damage: 200
One of the few weapons without tiers. The Meowmere, a well-known Terraria weapon, has made its way into Palworld. You can craft it yourself from level 30 for a solid mid-game option. It fires cat-shaped projectiles that explode. You can obtain a legendary version from the Moon Lord, though it isn’t stronger.
Palworld Katana: Highest melee damage and Update 0.7
- Unlock: Level 29 with 2 Technology Points
- Crafting: Pal Metal Ingot + Wood
- Damage: 780
Looking strictly at damage, the Katana is the best melee weapon in the game. With Update 0.7, however, its attack pattern was adjusted, which may change how it plays. It’s still excellent—especially in the mid-game—and possibly even more flexible than before.

Palworld Sword: Versatile all-rounder for combat and resources
- Unlock: Level 44 with 3 Technology Points
- Crafting: Ingot + Wood + Stone
- Damage: 360
The classic sword unlocks as you progress and is a wonderful all-rounder for many situations. Use it not only in combat, but also to chop down trees and mine stone. It’s a reliable weapon you should definitely keep in your arsenal.
Palworld Lily’s Spear: Best spear choice for mid to late game
- Unlock: Level 43 with 3 Ancient Technology Points
- Crafting: Paldium Fragment + Refined Ingot + High Quality Cloth + Wood + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 450
Spears are also viable in Palworld, and Lily’s Spear is the best pick. It offers variety with different attack patterns that set it apart from standard swords. That alone makes it worth crafting. The required resources are a bit harder to gather, but we still highly recommend it.
Palworld Terraprisma: Melee plus ranged via sword illusions
- Unlock: Schematic found in the “Sealed Realm of Terraria”
- Crafting: Hallowed Bar + Pal Metal Ingot + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 90 to 150
Like the Terra Blade, the Terraprisma comes in tiers from normal to legendary. You’ll find the additional schematics in the Terraria dungeon as well. While this sword doesn’t deal huge damage, it can double as a ranged weapon. During combat, sword illusions appear, fly toward enemies, and attack automatically—making the Terraprisma truly unique.
Palworld Ranged: The best ranged weapons with stats and schematics

Palworld Rocket Launcher: Maximum AoE damage and schematics
- Unlock: Level 49 with 5 Technology Points
- Crafting: Pal Metal Ingot + Polymer + Carbon Fiber + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 10,000 to 14,000
The Rocket Launcher is one of the strongest weapons in the entire game, but it comes with limitations. It reloads slowly, has limited ammo, and isn’t easy to handle. You can get higher tiers via schematics found in chests or dropped by the Pal Jetragon.
Palworld Tesla Rifle: Highest burst damage in the endgame
- Unlock: Level 65 with 5 Technology Points
- Crafting: Coralium Ingot + Hexolite + Carbon Fiber + Platinum + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 12,500 to 15,000
The Tesla Rifle has the highest damage output of any weapon and is therefore only available very late in the game—at the current final tech tier. It fires a single shot that you must charge first. If you land your hit, it’s devastating. You can buy additional schematics or obtain them from the Pal Neptilius.
Palworld High-tech Bow: Silent kills with high-tech arrows
- Unlock: Level 57 with 3 Technology Points
- Crafting: Hexolite + Carbon Fiber + Star Sand
- Damage: 5,800 to 8,700
Bows are fantastic in Palworld, and the High-tech Bow is the best of the bunch. You need High-tech Arrows to use it, which unlock at the same level. The bow is incredibly strong and silent. You can get improved versions via schematics, in this case from the Pal Azurmane.

Palworld Grenade Launcher: Powerful late-game ranged weapon
- Unlock: Level 53 with 5 Technology Points
- Crafting: Pal Metal Ingot + Plasteel + Carbon Fiber + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 3,000 to 4,500
A classic grenade launcher is a must-have. It’s hard to go wrong with it, and it’s perfect as a late-game ranged weapon. You also unlock its ammo at level 53. Additional schematics can be found on oil rigs scattered across Palworld’s waters.
Palworld Laser Rifle: Precision with energy cartridges
- Unlock: Level 51 with 5 Technology Points
- Crafting: Pal Metal Ingot + Plasteel + Carbon Fiber + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 1,250 to 1,875
The Laser Rifle uses energy cartridges and is one of the most accurate weapons in the game. You unlock it late, but we recommend crafting it right away. In combat, it’s hard to beat thanks to its speed and flexibility. You can obtain improved schematics from Frostallion Noct.
Palworld Overheating Rifle: Infinite fire with no ammo
- Unlock: Level 64 with 5 Technology Points
- Crafting: Coralium Ingot + Hexolite + Carbon Fiber + Platinum + Ancient Civilization Parts
- Damage: 1,225 to 1,470
The Overheating Rifle also belongs in your arsenal, because unlike other ranged weapons, it doesn’t require additional ammo. In theory, you can fire indefinitely—just make sure the weapon doesn’t overheat. It encourages a different combat style you might really enjoy. You can buy additional schematics at the Arena Shop.
Palworld conclusion: How to defeat enemies with the best weapons
Fight alongside your Pals against a variety of enemies using a broad arsenal. From melee weapons borrowed from Terraria to extremely powerful firearms, you’re free to find your own combat style. While most unlock through the tech tree, you’ll need to breed Pals or run dungeons for additional schematics.
