Hytale is currently fantastic for exploring the wide world and getting to know different zones. But you won’t just find different animals, ores, or resources there—there are also a variety of structures generated by the game itself. These are especially worth the trip and contain many valuable items you might not have found otherwise. Some are also much larger than they first appear. From cities with partly friendly and partly hostile creatures to deep dungeons or abandoned harbors, Hytale offers plenty of structures to discover.

Hytale Zone 1 Guide: Best Structures, Dungeons, and Loot

Hytale Zone 1 structures: Kweebec village, crypt, and mineshaft

Everything still looks very peaceful here, with green meadows and forests. But that’s deceiving—there are already some dark secrets lurking that clever players will certainly stumble upon. Of course, the Forgotten Temple is one of the most important structures, but beyond that you’ll find plenty more here!

  • Kweebec Village: Kweebecs are the cute residents who have settled around large trees and whom you can also meet in the world of the Forgotten Temple. They’ll wave at you, and some will even trade with you. These villages are great because you can pick up both crops like carrots or cabbage and animals like chickens.
  • Cursed Crypt: If you see an ominous circle on the map, it’s bound to catch your eye. It’s a graveyard—one that hides a big secret! The crypt plunges deep below, with winding sections, platforming segments, and plenty of skeletons. At the very bottom, a boss fight awaits you, and along the way you’ll find many treasure chests and riches.
  • Mineshaft: These rather inconspicuous houses don’t look like much at first glance, but a look into the depths tells a different story. Mines run extremely deep underground and even contain many ores that you’d normally find rarely—or not at all—in Zone 1! Mines and dig sites also appear in every other zone, with similarly sprawling shafts.

Hytale Zone 2 Desert: Temples, Labyrinths, and Rare Loot

Hytale Zone 2 Desert: labyrinth, temple ruins, and Scarak nests

The vast desert is full of surprises and is definitely not for the faint of heart. You’ll also face sandstorms here, which make it harder to keep your bearings. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll discover many secret structures in Zone 2 that hold plenty of treasure.

  • Scarak Nests: These nests are part of the landscape—and probably the most annoying areas in the entire game. Watch out for both flying and crawling insects that also poison you. On the plus side, you can gather lots of chitin and poison sacs for crafting.
  • Labyrinth: Hytale also features a kind of desert temple, marked by its distinctive exterior. It, too, descends deep underground, with loads of treasure chests and many rare items. Watch out for scorpions—they’re poisonous as well.
  • Temple Ruins: You’ll also find temple ruins that are now home to skeletons. Nasty archers and even mages lie in wait, which doesn’t make raiding them any easier. Move carefully to find all the treasure and take down the enemies.

Hytale Zone 3 Snow: Icebergs, Outlander Outposts, and Harbors

Hytale Zone 3 Snow: iceberg camps, Outlander outposts, and harbor

In the icy Zone 3, you’ll encounter a different set of structures with new enemies and varied architecture. Some are even abandoned and can be explored on your own without detours. That makes Zone 3’s structures unique—though you’ll still find enemies here and there.

  • Iceberg Camps: Among the currently abandoned buildings are the camps embedded in the icebergs around Zone 3. They look menacing but are completely cleared out. That’s exactly what makes them exciting for players—there are tons of chests and crates to find, and no one will contest you for them.
  • Outlander Outposts: Far more dangerous are the Outlanders, Zone 3’s exclusive enemies. They have several structures, but their villages, outposts, and ritual sites are especially nasty. They’re easy to spot on the map and look threatening from afar. Fights are tough—but the rewards are worth it.
  • Abandoned Harbor: Harbor areas along the edge of the zone are less nerve‑wracking. You’ll find piers with houses and Viking ships filled with plenty of chests and discoveries. Not as expansive as other structures, but still worth a visit.

Hytale Zone 4 Devastated Lands: Volcanoes, Skeleton Villages, and Loot

Hytale Zone 4 Devastated Lands: volcanoes and skeleton villages

You should only venture into the Devastated Lands later, once you have better gear. The area teems with enemies and treacherous terrain. You can still find several structures here, though life itself is scarce. The undead, however, thrive in this lava-laced region.

  • Burned Village: Not every settlement survives in a harsh region like Zone 4. On your adventures, you’ll come across a good number of abandoned, burned villages—perfect for looting.
  • Volcano: Volcanoes aren’t uncommon on the islands of Zone 4, and they’re worth a closer look. Some of the craters hide true treasures, though they’re extremely hard to reach. Be careful and avoid the lava to make it to the bottom and scoop up all that gold.
  • Skeleton Village: These resemble the burned villages, but they aren’t abandoned—they’re inhabited by skeletons. Their houses are larger and better built, there’s more loot, and there are several secrets. For example, there are basements with chests—but also nasty mages who can kill you quickly. Caution is advised.

Conclusion: Explore Hytale with the Best Structures in Each Zone

Exploring Orbis is currently one of Hytale’s highlights—and this is only the first, rudimentary version of world generation. Every region offers different, varied structures just waiting to be explored and exploited. Some dungeons can keep you busy for well over an hour, with secret passages, branches, and even a few bosses.
