Hytale Furniture & Builder's Workbench: Furniture, Blocks, Lighting

In Hytale, you won’t just head out on adventures—you can also build your dream home and settle down in a beautiful area. Your home isn’t only a place to store gear and get work done; it’s also a showcase for your creativity. Hytale already offers plenty of exciting ways to make your house look great and feel cozy. That’s where the Furniture Workbench and the Builder’s Workbench shine. Together, they give you near-endless options to add detail to your builds. Today, we’ll take a closer look at both so you can discover awesome decorations and additional blocks!

Hytale Builder’s Workbench Guide: Convert block variants and crafting recipes

Hytale Builder's Workbench with recipes for wood blocks

The Builder’s Workbench is straightforward to understand, but the more blocks you find in the game, the deeper it gets. To craft it, you’ll need 6x Logs and 3x Stone plus the basic workbench. After that, you can start exploring Hytale’s huge variety of blocks! There’s currently no upgrade for this workbench.

Take Oak Wood, for example. At the Builder’s Workbench, you can turn it into all kinds of things. You can craft standard planks, as well as stairs and slabs you might recognize from Minecraft. But it doesn’t stop there: wood can also become roof tiles, ladders, and fences, as well as trapdoors and regular doors. You can even make furniture like cabinets, shelves, and tables. As you can see, the Builder’s Workbench is incredibly versatile.

When you hover your mouse over the input slot, your inventory will highlight all blocks that can be converted at the workbench—and there are a lot. With future updates, expect many more options to be added. We recommend testing every block you find to see which other blocks you can turn it into.

Hytale Furniture Workbench Guide: Craft furniture and decorations

Hytale Furniture Workbench with furniture tabs

The Furniture Workbench offers eight different tabs with various furniture pieces and decorations you can place in your world. You’ll find everything from chests and lighting to seasonal decor. There are already tons of great items that fit perfectly into your builds. There’s no upgrade for this bench yet either, but future updates will likely add much more—so keep an eye out.

Crafting chests in Hytale: Storage and inventory management

Hytale various craftable chests for storage

The first section focuses on chests you can craft. Unlike Minecraft, which has just one main variant, Hytale lets you craft a whole range of different chests. Most of these unlock gradually as you collect Memories and turn them in at the Forgotten Temple (Find Hytale memories: locations, tips, and rewards) . Some crafting resources also aren’t easy to come by. Different chest types are super handy for sorting and telling your items apart at a glance.

Crafting beds in Hytale: Respawn and sleep

In the second tab, you can craft various beds that let you skip nights and set your spawn point. Generally, beds differ only visually—there are no direct gameplay advantages to a “better” bed. But for decorative builds, crafting a different bed can be a nice touch.

Light sources in Hytale: Craft lamps, lanterns, and lighting

Hytale lamps and lanterns as light sources

The lighting section is especially exciting, with a wide selection of lamps, lights, and lanterns already available. Some of them can be found in the world and picked up, saving you from crafting them yourself. To set the right mood at home, the right light sources are essential.

Most of them require a Candle to craft. For Candles—also found here—you’ll need Tree Sap and a Copper Ingot. Beyond that, recipes vary widely, and some require hard-to-find materials like Bamboo, Thorium, or Bones. Other lamps build on the following material categories.

Ceramics, textiles, and wood walls: Colorful building blocks in Hytale

  • Ceramics: Here you can make Clay from Red Sandstone. You’ll find Red Sandstone in Zone 2, specifically in the Golden Steppes—with plenty available underground as well. Using the Clay you’ve produced and various petals, you can create different clay colors. Clay is used in many crafting recipes.

  • Textiles/Wool: Similar to clay, you can use petals here to dye Wool. You’ll get wool by keeping sheep and shearing them with Shears.

  • Wood walls: Using the Clay you crafted earlier and Hardwood, you can make colored walls with wood accents that are fantastic for building.

Decorations in Hytale: Books, bones, and plush

Hytale decorations like book stacks, bones, and a Kweebec plushie

In the second-to-last tab, you’ll currently find a variety of decorative elements to craft. These include book stacks, different bones, a cute Kweebec plushie, and even the Woodcutter Block. These items let you add the finishing touches to your world and bring it to life. And there will almost certainly be more items added here over time.

Seasonal decor in Hytale: Halloween and Christmas

Hytale seasonal decor for Halloween and Christmas

If you prefer a festive look for your world, the final section of the Furniture Workbench is perfect for you. You’ll primarily find decor for Halloween and Christmas that instantly elevates your builds. There are jack-o’-lanterns, snowmen, string lights, and even presents you can use as chests. And who knows—maybe more items will arrive for Easter or other holidays.

Conclusion: Hytale furniture, lighting, and building blocks for a cozy home

Even now, Hytale offers tons of blocks and items to furnish and decorate your new home. The Builder’s Workbench and Furniture Workbench are your best friends for discovering every possible block. The Builder’s Workbench unlocks more variants for many blocks, while the Furniture Workbench provides lighting, colorful building materials, and seasonal decorations.

The best way to explore all these possibilities is on your own Hytale server, which you can rent from us. Play together with your friends and be ready whenever a new update drops—maybe with even more decorations to enjoy.
