Enshrouded Biome Guide: All Regions in Embervale

Enshrouded is a large-scale survival RPG that focuses not on a single area, but on many different biomes. The map isn’t procedurally generated—it was crafted by hand by the developers. That makes exploration especially rewarding, as you never know what surprises the devs have left for you. Embervale is diverse and features multiple biomes that offer different quests, materials, items, and challenges. Today, we’ll give you a quick tour of the map and help with your Enshrouded walkthrough.

Enshrouded Springlands Guide: A Peaceful Start in the Forest Biome

Level: 1 to 10

Flame Altar: 1 to 2

In every region, we recommend heading straight to the Ancient Spire to get a great overview of the area. After the initial tutorial, you’ll land in the Springlands, a gentle and mostly peaceful biome for your first steps. Get familiar with the mechanics, collect your first items, and talk to survivors. Common enemies include the Fallen and Scavengers, as well as wild animals. You can also search for rare fossils, which are unique to this area.

A key part of this region is building your first rudimentary base and rescuing several survivors. Start with the Blacksmith, who is crucial for future upgrades. You can also rescue the Alchemist and the Farmer here.

Enshrouded Low Meadows: Resources and Survivors in the Valley

Head southeast from the Springlands to reach an open, grassy valley. Technically still part of the Springlands, it’s best suited for players from level 5 and up. Here you’ll find the Hunter and Carpenter, two more important survivors for your base. The area is also great for gathering lots of resources such as wood, twigs, animal products, and plant fibers. Stock up to gear yourself for later!

Enshrouded Revelwood: Dense Rainforest Biome with Rare Resources

Level: 10 to 15

Flame Altar: 3

Travel north from the Springlands to reach Revelwood, an even denser forest filled with nasty monsters. Watch out for Fallen and Scavengers, and be prepared—the local flora and fauna won’t make things easy.

Head into the forest to hunt for rare resources. You’ll find copper, clay, and hardwood to craft even better gear. It’s also a great place to discover lots of armor pieces. Enshrouded Blackmire: Swamp Biome, Puzzles, and the Bard

Farther north lies Blackmire, a sub-region of Revelwood. The trees grow even thicker here, and you’ll have to fight through a jungle to make progress. It’s also fun to solve the local puzzles! You’ll find the Bard deep in one of the dungeons. You can also encounter rare animals—either to tame or harvest for crafting materials.

Enshrouded Nomad Highlands: Desert Plateau, Vukah, and New Ores

Level: 15 to 20

Flame Altar: 4

The Highlands divide the eastern and western halves of the map and should be crossed around level 15. It’s a rugged, barren region with a strikingly different landscape. That means you’ll find new resources you won’t see in the western forests. Expect lots of limestone, along with tin and fossil bones for various recipes. You’ll also come across aloe vera, peppers, and rooibos.

The environment isn’t friendly. You’ll face stronger Scavengers and Fallen, plus many Vukah gathered in their camps. Keep an eye out for vicious wildlife like saber-toothed tigers.

Enshrouded Kindlewastes: Lowland Desert, Crafting Resources, and Armor

Level: 20 to 30

Flame Altar: 5

The Kindlewastes span a large area in the southeast and will put you to the test. The sun beats down, and the desert seems endless. But it’s worth the trip—you’ll gear up with plenty of great items. Find rare resources like saffron, lapis, and sulfur, or look for palm wood and iron. If you enjoy building with sand and sandstone, you’re in the right place!

The fauna is the main threat here: scorpions, rats, spiders, and vultures. You’ll also encounter Scavengers and Fallen, though less often than in previous regions. Exploring dungeons pays off—you can find three different armor sets per class here, plus lots of powerful weapons to prepare you for the final two areas.

Enshrouded Albaneve Summits: Frost Biome, Mountains, and Rare Ores

Level: 30 to 40

Flame Altar: 6 to 8

You’ve braved forests and deserts—now it’s time for the cold mountains. You’ll find them north of the Kindlewastes. You’ll immediately notice the shift from desert to a frigid landscape. We recommend wearing warm clothing and keeping an eye out for rare armor.

This region is packed with new materials and items, including snow and ice, as well as stones like granite, obsidian, and silver. You’ll face your usual enemies, the Fallen and Scavengers, now even stronger. Climb to the peak of the highest mountain to face a mystical creature. Also, look for goats to bring back to your base for animal husbandry.

Enshrouded Veilwater Basin: Tropical Biome, Fishing, and Draks

Level: 35 to 45

Flame Altar: 8 to 9

The latest region is Veilwater Basin, a water-filled area north of the Highlands, between Blackmire and the Albaneve Summits. Inspired by the tropics, it features beautiful ruins and plenty of new mechanics. You’ll also meet the Angler, a new survivor. That finally lets you craft a fishing rod and catch fish.

There are new enemies too: the lizard-like Draks. They’ve built sacred temples here and defend them fiercely. Exploration pays off, with many unique items like coffee, gold, aquamarine, and tropical wood. You’ll also find new food items such as bananas, ginger, and coconuts.
