Palworld launched in Early Access in January 2024 to a wave of excitement. Since then, the developers have spent more than two years packing the game with new content. In 2026, the official release is finally expected to usher in the next phase of Palworld. We still don’t have a release date, but a look at potential features can already show what to expect with Version 1.0. We’re drawing on previous updates, statements from the developers, and the community’s collected wishes and ideas. What is already known is that the full release of Palworld is intended to be bigger and more substantial than all previous improvements.
Palworld 1.0: New Pals and Possible Evolutions

With practically every update, Palworld has added new Pals, and 1.0 will likely be no different. The team has already shown several pieces of concept art that might make it into the game later. Of course, these are just ideas—who knows which Pals will actually appear. Shown so far were, among others, a fluffy yellow dog, a snowy owl, an eel with a hidden sword, and a kind of water-lily Pal.
Beyond new Pals, some players are hoping a form of evolution will be added to Palworld. Several Pals build on each other visually, which could hint at such a feature. Pals like Pengullet and Penking or Swee and Sweepea clearly seem to belong to the same family. New subtypes for the categories Lux, Ingis, Noct, or Terra could also join.
Palworld 1.0 Map Expansion: New Regions and Islands

New regions and islands are nothing new for Palworld. The two biggest updates included Feybreak and Sakurajima, which added two large new islands and massively expanded the Palpagos Islands. With Version 1.0, another new area will almost certainly arrive to separate new content geographically. What exactly that means, we can’t say. More places to explore are always welcome, though.
Palworld 1.0 Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
One thing that will almost certainly be addressed is Palworld’s technical side. You can find glitches and bugs in any game, but Palworld has many that are often exploited by players. The developers have already announced plans to improve these aspects so the game runs more smoothly and closes loopholes. The full release is intended to be the last major version for now, so ideally it should arrive with as few major issues as possible.
There’s also a strong desire for better performance. There are plenty of problems here as well, especially with large bases and lots of individual elements. Hopefully the team can refine a number of things so more players can enjoy Palworld stably and smoothly.
Palworld 1.0 Combat System: Balance, Types, and Weapons

Combat in Palworld is fun and varied, but this feature could get another pass with Version 1.0. That includes several facets that could make the combat system even better. The goal is mainly to break up the current meta and give players more options for teams and strategies.
- Better balancing of the existing types, especially for the strongest Pals. Right now, Dark and Dragon dominate, while types like Grass or Electric lag behind.
- New types to improve the balance between the elements. The current loop is intuitive, but not necessarily the best way to fit all types under one umbrella.
- Adjustments to player weapons so more weapons remain viable in the late game.
Palworld 1.0 Base Building: Automation, Blueprints, and Pathfinding

Bases could also get a fresh coat of paint, even though the recent “Home Sweet Home” update already brought a number of changes. There’s still plenty more to squeeze out here, which Version 1.0 might tackle.
- Templates and blueprints to repeat sections or use as prefabs.
- Moving objects within a base.
- More ways to automate tasks without player input.
- Better pathfinding for Pals within the base.
- More styles, building pieces, and other visual updates for bases.
- Larger area to expand.
Palworld 1.0 Story and Lore: Quests, World Tree, and Worldbuilding

An expansion of the story hasn’t been directly announced, but it will likely arrive with Version 1.0 as well. You can currently follow quests and find notes in the world, but there isn’t really a cohesive story. Players are hoping for more details about the world and the Pals, which may come with the release. The World Tree you can always see in the distance is especially intriguing. It was already mentioned as a point of interest in a trailer and an old roadmap. Perhaps the island around the tree will be the new area we get to explore.
Palworld 1.0 Interactions: Care and Minigames with Pals

Lastly, we’d love to do more with our Pals. There are a few limited interactions with the creatures, but far fewer than many players hope for. For many, Palworld is also a cozy game, so more cute activities with Pals would definitely be welcome.
For example, you could brush or otherwise care for your Pals. Minigames involving multiple Pals would also be a great activity. That could strengthen affection and trust between them. In our opinion, there’s still a lot of potential here to make Pals feel more alive and not just like workhorses kept at the base.
Conclusion: Palworld 1.0 Release Outlook and Expectations
While some of the items listed here have already been confirmed for 1.0, we can probably only hope for others. Palworld is already a fantastic game with many exciting mechanics, but the release promises to get even more out of the formula. More Pals, additional island groups, and refinements to existing features will likely be front and center to create a well-rounded experience. Maybe you have other ideas for how Palworld could get even better.
When exactly Version 1.0 will launch is still up in the air. To make sure you’re ready and can jump in with your friends right away, we offer multiplayer servers for Palworld. As soon as 1.0 arrives, you can update your server and start into the new update.
